CPEC : Centre of the World

center of Pakistan's world for sure. It would be slightly better "center of the region" if Indian markets and Chinese markets get to trade across to the Central Asian Region and Europe. That would eat into some of the Suez Canal economy (as goods wont need to travel through Suez to reach Europe). With India providing a road/rail network into Indonesia, Bangladesh etc and China providing HSR links to its own economic hubs.

Kudos to Pakistan and China for trying to bring more prosperity to the region that will consequently get more people out of poverty. But calling it the "Center of the World" is a bit over the top.

. . . .
An investment by China for $35 billion and the rest $11 billion taken as loan by Pakistan from the Chinese for the CPEC is resulting in orgasms! One dude, senator Abidi even mentioned that with the $46 billion CPEC, rivers of gold will soon flow in Pakistan making it the next world super power! Lol!

Check out India's $90 billion investment in the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor which puts the CPEC in the shade! But no one brags and shouts from the rooftops like our Pakistani friends are doing with the CPEC!

If they think that the $46 billion investment is going to bring rivers of gold into Pakistan and make it a super power, then how about India's Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor that is almost double the CPEC outlay at a whopping $90 billion?

A word about the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor especially for the likes of Abidi and his ilk.....

Conceived as a global manufacturing and trading hub, the $90 billion DMIC project is expected to double employment potential, triple industrial output and quadruple exports from the region in five years. The total employment to be generated from the project is 3 million, the bulk of which will be in the manufacturing/processing sectors.

The project initially aims to create seven smart cities distributed along the backbone of the dedicated freight corridor between Delhi and Mumbai.

Nuff said!

This is Pakistani Defence Forum, not Indian.

Poor Indians watch more pakistani TV trying to dig stuff out than even most Pakistanis watching Pakistani tv. I think i have never watched Indian TV... ever.

Anyways... most Indians don't understand one basic thing about pakistani people. ... we are a bunch of pessimistic half-glass-empty types. For better or worse, we strive on pessimism-poorn. But if you scratch the surface, most of that pessimism is really just a front for our deep desire to improve and care for the nation. But most Indians would not know that because they don't know anyone of us on a personal level.

Besides, pakistan has some of freest media in the world... you will find discourse of every stripe. Even lowbrow type.

Hmmm nice post OP
God seriously this is just getting out of hand now every single topic related to CPEC or Pakistan is derailed by trolls
@waz @WAJsal plz clear the thread

no one interested to derail thread. believe me, discussing demerits of project isn't wrong, even if Indian members pointed out.. but needlessly calling rats or whatever like OP referring to Indian members.. yes thread will go out of hands.. even before that, when you are saying CPEC gonna be future of mankind and centre of earth or world.. isn't it funny to claim or boast like that without knowledge.. The point is not how much talent or resources you got but how much you can and materialise it.

How does any of this make the CPEC the ' Center of the world" ??
By annoying the hell out of the people SOUTH of us...

I kid my kalakola neighbors from the south... whether CPEC turns out to be what is being stated or a dud like a lot of things that were missed opportunities remains to be seen. Nevertheless, I am enjoying the circus around it. The knee jerk reaction all around are fun to watch and egg on!

people complaining about indian member in cpec threads are right.
we never see pakistanies in thread about future possibility of india being a big powerhouse or a "superpower".

Okay, so people are talking about competing with ports like Shanghai & Singapore with 400 million tonnes capacity. Do they even realize that it is the long term goal which can be achieved after building 100 berths? - that's 2045 at least.

The present capacity addition is 3-4 berths.

Anyway what's the draft at present & after upgradation in the near term (2015-20) ?

@OrionHunter Sir we have a thread about that here.

https://defence.pk/threads/delhi-mumbai-industrial-corridor-dmic.379702/

but needlessly calling rats or whatever like OP referring to Indian members

I've never seen any moderator warning him or deleting his posts.

If we can talk about achievements, how smaller it may be on world scale, then they also have right to brag about CPEC, this is the only thing happening after long time, so they have high hopes and bigger dreams and no harm in having them.
Kalam also had vision 2020 seeing india as super power, thing didnt went that way, but didnt indians started feeling good about it, had big dreams and achived new highs.

Evey society needs something positive to hold upon, to look upto and that drives growth, CPEC is one such project that gives hopes this might be a game changer for pakistan when every thing else is failing, but that totally depends upon how they get treated from China in long run, they have walked similar path with Arabs, with USA and now its with China.
For an ant a sugar cube is its world, it might not look that big to you as human being. So lets keep the discussion to rational levels. Please respect each other, your inteactions with others tells a lot about your upbringing, so please be wise enough to maintain the dignity of your parents, society and country at large.

Except CPEC has more meat than Kalam's vision 2020 which just aimed at getting some popular votes and nothing more.

Was kalam a politician & did he belong to any party or did he ever stand for elections ?

Re visit your facts
