Counter-thoughts! How Bharat can help stabilize Afghanistan

Bhai you are living in 1980s when there was some sort of assumed parity of economy between two countries.

That model is now invalid.

Please start living in 2015. Some Pakistani organizations may do stupid / criminal things. but state of Pakistan no longer can ""plot" anything against India.

Afghanistan is neighbor of Pakistan.

Other neighbors are Iran, China, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkamistan.

Just think if Pakistan is any position to "dominate" in this situation when there at least 3 other countries much bigger economically, and they have direct connect with Afghanistan.

Just think!

I agree with this thought process but the only issue is I don't think India has enough depth to de-stabalize afghanistan . IN a way Afghanistan was always destabilized and would continue to do so . nothing will change that .

India does NOT need Central Asian economies and trade to grow

Central Asian market is a Pakistani created bogeyman

Find out the Total GDP of Central Asian countries and then worry about it

And Central Asian countries trade with China Russia and Europe

India has trade with ALL other parts of the world
That is more than enough

Calm your tits down man . India needs everything possible to grow and thrive . Bhikari ke paas 2 kapde aane se woh amir nae ho jata .

.
You have written what India should do to stabilise afg but u haven't spelt out what pakistan should do to stabilise the region.
After all taali ek haath se nahi bajati.

India needs cheaper gas and petrol !

.
. India needs everything possible to grow and thrive

No i will repeat my assertion

It is ONLY PAKISTANIS who keep Harping about access to Central Asia

Total GDP of Central Asia is just 400 BILLION USD

We are already getting our oil and gas from GCC

India needs cheaper gas and petrol !

HOW through Pipelines from Afhganistan and Pakistan

It will always be uncertainity for us ; We can get all our need from the Gulf

Why should we trust Pakistan

So India is deluded in investing in Chabar port to open a route via Iran-Afg to central asia ? Also read about Farkor air base in tajikstan .

.
We can not trust Pakistan. So we have to find other way to central Asia. We will prefer way through China rather than Pakistan.

.
Indians on PDF have started BELIEVING in this NONSENSE called
" Access to Central Asia is key to India's growth "

That is just Horse S***

Central Asia is NOTHING

India's trading partners are the ENTIRE WORLD

ASIA ; EUROPE : USA ; CHINA ; AFRICA ; South America

There is a WHOLE BIG world out there for us to trade with

Some Pakistani organizations may do stupid / criminal things. but state of Pakistan no longer can ""plot" anything against India.

How about acting against those Pakistani organizations which are involved in stupid/criminal things against India for a change?

Farkor is strategic

So is Chabahar and the road rail links between Chabhar and Afghanistan

We are doing this FOR STRATEGIC reasons not economic reasons

Strategic reasons mean keeping Pakistan under pressure

Pakistan's economy has limited potential

Iran has much more potential because it has OIL and gas

Therefore One day even China will find Chabahar more attractive than Gwadar

That is why we are investing in Chabahar

I have never even seen a more self deluded person in India . Good night which China finding Chahabar more attractive than gwadar . Have heard many things on this forum but never something like that .

If you DO NOT understand Geo politics is it my fault

Then why the Hell we are creating a port so close to Gwadar

Iran has excellent relations with BOTH CHINA and India

What is Gwadar ; just a deserted port in Baluchistan

DO YOU KNOW about the water shortage in Baluchistan

That just rules out large scale industrialisation in Gwadar
and expansion of Gwadar

I am NOT even talking of the law and order problems

Once sanctions are lifted on Iran ; Iranian economy will take off

Iran has oil and Gas like DUBAI ; THEREFORE CHABAHAR will prosper

What has Gwadar got

Iran will get a lot of foreign investment from China India Europe Japan Russia
and even some from USA once sanctions are lifted

I agree with your post. I think what you are saying sure makes sense.

.
why you would NOT agree with trade advantages for Bharat?
The hurdle for India in the region is the Pakistan China friendship. Dominating the region will require one of these two to be busy on other fronts decreasing their effectiveness. Trade will be used as a weapon to strengthen those with anti Pakistani feelings and bring them as leaders in the business and political front. But trade itself to bring prosperity to Afghans as a whole is never in the Indian interests. Projects will involve cheap labour and natural resources as well as a media which can direct the Afghan people thinking to be pro India. Indian focus on trade is more towards Europe and America as well as the middle east. The Central Asian states are not as important to India as they already have good relations with Russia.
India will prefer sinking money into Afghanistan to show a generation that they are the true friends and Pakistan is their enemy. With the border being so long it will be a burden on Pakistani armed forces who will have to face continuous guerilla war fare and border skirmishes. Pakistan needs to tighten the border and stop smuggling of Pakistani goods to Afghanistan and rather focus on providing business ventures which are mutually beneficial. With a gradual move to talk to the Afghan Taliban with the help of China it will not be long before the areas next to the Pakistani border are again less interested in Pakistan and more with Afghanistan and India has till then to inflame anti Pakistani feelings in Afghanistan.
