It is a good thread to promote tourism in Pakistan and at least you being a Pakistani shouldn't be derailing it.

Pakistan is very beautiful but has a negative image of not a very peaceful country. That is the most important thing which needs to be taken care of in case you want to promote tourism

Anyway, There is a always a case of 'Step Brother' place in which step brother gets the lesser share of the pie. For example, USA gets more tourists than Canada, India gets more tourists than Pakistan and Bangladesh, Newyork gets more tiurists than New Jersey, Karachi gets more domestic tourists than Hyderabad or Lahore vs Faisalabad.

After improving security issues, We need to attract more people in two categories:
- Historical sight seeing
- Adventurers

^ these two groups of people are enough to give positive image about Pak.

I think the statistics in pakistan includes Non resident pakistani's visiting pakistan.

If those visitors apply for visa on foreign passport then yes, otherwise I don't think so. Same goes for any other country. Correct me if I'm wrong.

If Pakistan provides e-visa for 180 countries like India does than you will also see the number jump in Pakistan's case. Currently, you can get a visa for India in few hours by computer click compared to Pakistan who's visa takes weeks. Australia attracts 6 million tourists compared to India's 8.8 Million so does that mean India is a better Tourist destination than Australia? Or maybe because Millions of people might not apply to Australia in the first place because of Visa hurdles and expense involved.
