Could Myanmar and Bangladesh Go To War Over the Rohingya Crisis?

So before thinking of a war against Myanmar, go wage a war against your government.
But alas! in a democracy majority wins so better think of changing your government through coup or other undemocratic means.

Finally, the RAW agent who rose to the rank of Field Marshall on PDF with over 35000 comments has been exposed of his Hindu India links.

Well said.

Specially this part.

How?

By killing ethnic Burmese, Marmas in BD? So they run to Myanmar? Or start killing the Buddhists in BD? This is the only response in kind I can think of. And no this should never be done by BD.

Only an Idiot would get into a fight where the risk of losing far outweighs the gains.

The pushing in off a million people into BD on the false claim they are Bangladeshi is a direct attack on BD. How do you not see it. It impacts BD in many different ways economically and strategically.

It is a war in our people and nation just over an imaginary line.

Reaction needed to have firm. Attack on BD minorities is neither the answer nor should it be advocated. Unfortunately in my opinion it is a real possibility if the anger present in BD is not appropriately directed against Burmese animals.

BD needs to go in to Burma and establish safe zone. No one will fight for burma.

BD needs to do this now to protect ourselves from these evolutionary throwbacks.

There will be a price to pay for BD, but everyday we do nothing we are paying the price of emboldening these idiots.

Ultimately we fight the Burmese and retain national unity or we accept the rohingya and expel all Buddhists violently and lose our soul. There is no palatable option on the table, as such let the response be directed against the external aggressor.

I agree with everything but BD will never harm Buddhists. We are civilised.

Out of interest how many buddists are in Bangladesh and do they have any buddists majority regions in Bangladesh

No one will fight for BD either. Not Turkey, not KSA and definately not China, Pakistan or India. A war would continue for decades causing unimaginable sufferings among people of both sides....And by the time it ends you'd see that India, Pakistan and others will have developed a lot and Bangladesh will be lagging behind as a bottomless pit.
No we're never going back to those days.

I don't think BD citizens have been harmed so far. You should know that Rohingyas are not BD citizens.

What's the point of risking Millions to save a few?
Ultimately we fight the Burmese and retain national unity
Retaining national unity has nothing to do with fighting Burmese.
we accept the rohingya
Doing So.
expel all Buddhists violently and lose our soul.
Why would we do that? Rohingyas and Buddhists can live peacefully in BD. Let's not act like the Burmese.

We can only fight Burma if they attack Chittagong. We can't be seen overreacting.

1 million. And Chittagong Hill tracts is probably a Buddhist majority region. This is where I think we should settle the Rohingyas.

Appeasement never works. Going to war is never a good thing, but inaction is worse.

Buddhist in BD will suffer and they will suffer because as a nation we fail to tackle an external enemy. The crazies will make the Buddhist the fall guy.... unfortunately it's human nature and all too predictable.

Rohingyas definitely should be settled in CHT.

War is inevitable. It is merely a question of when.

No one will fight for us obviously but sovereignty is only gained when you fight for it yourself. This is the time to go to war to prevent internal strife and a larger war in the future.

Absolutely put the Rohingya in Chittagong hills give them land and residency and maybe start pushing your million buddists in to Myanmar

As per partition it would be a exchange of population

Rather then going to war you need to start thinking about how to use pressure upon the buddists as a tool

. .
Noone will care or listen to Bangladesh about the Rohingya

You will be left dealing with the mess.
Start persecuting or atleast turning a blind eye to some unanimous mob violence towards buddists and then declare the Rohingya crises is a threat to your internal harmony

The more buddists suffer in your country

The more they lose Chittagong Hills tract the more of a voice you have

Your buddist population and the pain you can put them in is your best bargaining chip

No.

.

Maybe you dont want to! Sure i get that

But then be prepared to accept atleast 500,000 Rohingya whilst you get placated by countries like India who openly support oppression of Rohingya

After time passes you will be left dealing with everything with Myanmar laughing at you

You have over 1 MILLION buddists and they will need to suffer, push Rohingya into Chittagong Hills as a start

No one is saying commit genocide but only pressure on your buddists will get you relief and support for Rohingya

Havent you learnt being a goody two shoes gets you diddly squat
You have hindus on one side dreaming of a muslim holocaust and buddists on the other laughing at you whilst they kill, rape and burden you with Rohingya

Dont be a pussey, you know it makes sense

Why do you select CHT as the final ground for Rohingyas to settle. The land there is not Khash. Rohongyas must be allowed to settle back only in their villages in Arakan where they belong, and not in CHT on our land of the Buddhist Paharis. Do not please say absurd things because yours one is a recipe for Muslim-Buddhist rift.

You also talk about the possibility of a war with MM. Why do you forecast a war when you suggest Rohingya settlement in CHT? These two points are not equitable. War may break out when MM does not accept back their citizens in a safe haven guarded by the UN peacekeeping forces, although MM military is challenging our forces by violating our airspace many times.

You need to read through the thread of the conversation to understand what is being said and in the context it is being said.

Here in lies the issue. The vast majority of BD wishes for a multicultural, multi religious and multi ethnic country.

Population exchange is all very well.... but BD would be poorer for it.

The current situation is one of a child like underdeveloped unsophisticated closed country vs a mature open minded pluralistic nation.

A population exchange is not in BDs interest. The anger that is building needs to be channelled against the Burmese subhumans not against our minorities which will inevitably happen if there is no resolution.

The Buddhist minority does not have the capacity to threaten CHT which is quite safe.

I agree that there is a lot of cowardice in BD. This is reflected by some of the posters here on PDF who are acting like if BD has a choice whether to go to war or not. War has been imposed on BD and BD must fight.

It is not a coincidence that Modi was the only leader to go to Myanmar during the ethnic cleansing and give full support to the rogue regime. India is the other country that has labelled millions of their own citizens as illegal BD'shi but it has not identified them individually yet due to ethnic similarities. The two countries are acting in concert to deport their citizens for reasons of economics and/or demographics and see BD as a soft dumping ground. The way that BD is acting now, they are proving to be correct.

We have another BD poster(@Philia ) who forecasts decades of war with Myanmar if BD invades Arakan. If he would care to take a look at GDP figures, he would see that BD has 3.5 times the population and 3.5 times the GDP of Myanmar. Simply BD is an inherently more powerful country than Myanmar and can impose it's will on it if it chooses to. Myanmar would go bankrupt if it tried to keep up with BD defence spending if it was raised from current 1.5% to a hardly burdensome 2.0% of GDP.

Unless BD quickly sees the huge threat that both Myanmar and India pose to it's wellbeing, then BD deserves to remain forerver an impoverished and bullied country.
