Whether one supports the political system in China or not, one thing is perfectly clear, their lockdown of Wuhan province for 11 weeks was a unmitigated success and they have stopped the spread of CV19 for now. in fact they are so confident that life is returning to normal.

OTOH, EU and the USA and western world in general have completely failed to control the spread of CV19 they could not agree on a single coherent lockdown strategy. they were too worried about their Democracy then Saving Lives. in turn they are laying the blame of their failure at the Chinese doorstep.

Coming closer to home , the Pakistani politicians, establishment babus, media are using CV19 as a tool to further browbeat an already beleaguered PTI government. instead of coming together and putting up a United Front as a Nation to fight the CV19, not a day goes by where the politicians, establishment babus and media fling unsubstantiated news against PMIK and his government. for example, one media house DAWN even ran a Breaking News that UK PM had died. that is the level of Gutter News & Politics that is currently being witnessed by the public.

On a personal note, I stepped out of my house for the 1st time since 21st march for a half hour errand. I was shocked to find the traffic on the roads, the highly touted lockdown of the Sindh government has failed miserably and the traffic congestion is further compounded by the ill-advised police checking at every crossing. each check post is using their own set of SOPs and the bike riders and rickshaw wallas are being targeted for Bhatta. some habits just don't go away.

The most vulnerable segment of our cities are the populations living in the katcha abadis where self isolation and social distancing are next to impossible. the governments are completely ignoring this potential CV19 time bomb. these governments need to focus / prioritize the distribution of face masks and free CV19 testing in these areas. this is not my opinion but the opinions of global health experts who have identified cities like Mumbai, Karachi, Cape town and Rio as most vulnerable to CV19.

PMIK is correct in saying that the CV19 crisis could get worse in the coming days if CV19 is used as a political tool.
It has been a Shameful state of affairs.
Ya Allah Save us from these heartless people.
