Coronavirus: Bangladesh Navy provides medical equipment to 5 hospitals

Bangladesh Navy is conducting various awareness programs and distributing relief among the poor and helpless people

Bangladesh Navy has provided different types of medical and safety equipment to five hospitals, including Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital, to fight with the coronavirus outbreak.

The other hospitals are Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College & Hospital, Mugda Medical College and Hospital, Combined Military Hospital, Armed Forces Medical College and Armed Forces Institute of Pathology.

The navy officials handed over the medical and safety equipment to the hospitals authorities on Sunday, said Inter Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) in a press release.

They provided around 1,400 personal protective equipment (PPE), 5,600 masks, 4,300 set of gloves, 700 safety glasses and 5,000 shoe protections along with other medical and safety equipment to the hospitals, the release added.

Bangladesh Navy is conducting various awareness programs, including how to disinfect germ and provide food and medical assistance, in areas under their supervision in Dhaka, Khulna and Chittagong districts to fight the coronavirus outbreak.

In addition to managing the situation, they are distributing various relief items, including rice and pulse, to the houses of the local poor and helpless people
