Here are the official numbers of tax payments from different region of Pakistan where Karachi share is bigger than even complete Punjab

It's the largest city and the commercial hub. Most of the commercial infrastructure inculding naval ports exist there. Not a doing of the people but of the state.

I'm surprised to see Islamabad on its own is doing more than half of what Karachi is doing though. Almost the same as the whole Punjab combined...

what im stating is new york even though being so much developed compared to the rest of the country still asks for bigger share of the money, new york still has world class facilities compared to other american cities and management, and yet, Karachi doesnt even get mass transit which all little Punjab cities have. Karachi doesnt get the very basic needs and infrastructure of a city which a lot of pakistani cities already have.

does the federal govt not know how much money is allocated to karachi and where does it all go, blaming PPP and sindh govt is just the half of it, its the FBR which collects revenues not sindh govt.

Bro ...dont forget 18th amendment....Fed Govt. knows but can not investigate .....PPP is worst looter....visit Govt. offices in Karachi its like you are in Larkana...every seat is filled with brainless saien....listen to your work and straight away gives you "quote" for doing work......denial is no option.

its been seventh year now for Green Belt project....that have added huge misery to the people of karachi.....Every rain drop make it like big mud pond ....the Fed Govt is funding this project and must have feed back ....

This project was suppose to complete in two yrs...who will answer the added 5 yrs?

its cz ports are here in Karachi hence most of the collections are direct taxes, but even sales taxes are almost equals to who punjab.

Karachi still one of the biggest cities in the whole and need proper attention.

Two large ports,Head Offices of almost all big companies and collection of import/export tariff from all over Pakistan happens there.Even Punjab becomes Silicon valley tomarrow and Karachi becomes Somalia(God Forbid)still it would collect more than Punjab.

So you mean that Head Office of major corporations in Karachi are uselessly here ? Doesn't this speak of the level of maturity of corporate culture of Karachi v/s Punjab? Ask any corporate executive and he will accept that corporate culture in Karachi is way much productive as compared to other cities.

Secondly, you need to check contribution of direct taxes which has little to do with tariff.

Last but not the least, if we are helping in import and export for all of Pakistan then don't we provide our infrastructure to do so? Look at the pathetic condition of the roads we have due to all the loads of trucks and trade we handle. Lahore don't handle fraction of that. Don't we deserve some extra expenditure to repair the damages done by trade of all Pakistan being done through Karachi ?

Much better if we only provide personnel income and wealth tax breakup by city/ province and exclude corporate tax/ import/ export duties etc from it.

Even in that terms Karachi will be much more ahead specially in terms of salary tax. Are you saying the Faislabad which is hub of flying invoices will have more individual tax payers than karachi?

If we get a list of income taxes somehow, we can analyse how much each city should be paying in direct taxes approximately, and how much it is paying..
