CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 2x32 TBP TUGS & MULTIPURPOSE BARGE FOR PAKISTAN NAVY

Shouldn't you have checked that before you gave me a negative rating?

It was a serious comment and logical follow up to @Certain Somebody 's comment. As described, this is a minor deal so why is everything so fancy? Is this normal Pakistani business practice? Or is there something else important involved that the reporter didn't mention?
See, you make such sensible post and i would be the first one to thank that as well. It is nothing personal but you having spend so much time here already MUST know that such one liners that carry no meaning and are merely flaming posts which most likely will do nothing but derail the thread are not allowed.

And yes, i do know a little bit about your others posts and what you contribute to this forum. For that reason i have already revised the rating. Just like rating this post was not personal, changing it back was not either. I hope you will understand that.

Preference should be given to more important projects like submarines and frigates instead of wasting time and such a huge facility for making barges which can made some private small to medium sized organisation.
Which private small to medium sized organisation can make barges in Pak?

Sir every thing is important. these support and logistics equipments are vital. PN Knows what they want and when. so chill :)

We plan to, we need them!
There is nothing decided or signed yet but PN surely needs to replace those Type 21s, like yesterday! A better AAW capable frigate is what we should opt for and if money allows, for 6-8 frigates (may be even two classes, 4 heavier better AAW frigates and 2-4 more on the lines of F22p)
Do you think PN would actually now pursue any frigates, now that we're probably getting the (less-capable) ada-corvettes?

They have too if they want to survive. Plus i am not sure about what Ada class brings to the table. If PN do go for these, i think it will be in place of the 4 improved F22p frigates that we have been hearing about for some years. The needs for a better AAW capable frigate will remain. That might come in shape of something based on Type54A (a continuity of supply line from China after the F22p) or in form of PN joining TF-100 or even TF-2000 (TF-100 again wont have much to offer but TF-2000 can be different, nothing much is known as yet) (this will be a continuity of supply line from Turkey, IF we do for the the ADA first).

One thing that makes sense related to ADA class procurement is that it will bring a different more stealth design in place of the new F22p we were thinking about however the fact remains that these wont solve our AAW problems and we will need some other boats for that matter. Also true is the thing that 4F22p frigates and 4 better AAW capable frigates wont have been enough and we always did required some 4-6 frigates in the F22p category (relatively cheaper) to fill in numbers. Our Type21 are to be retired now and replaced with some new modern boats.

We already are operating a similar 32 ton (korean origin/manufactured by KSEW) tub boat in operation named PNT Zordar. There are quite a few other tug boats in operation as well

Plus KSEW have been making its own smaller capacity (12 ton) tug boats. One such is named PNT Jeedar.

Any which can do the job :enjoy:
Karachi Shipyard is the only shipyard and oldest heavy engineering establishment of Pakistan, so there is no time wastage in making berges,i think you want to say preferences should be given to making new shipyards. :)

If we don't have already...a bit disappointing to know then we need a few at least one or two immediately in Gawader.
