Congressional resolution seeks to freeze US aid to Pakistan

What happens if the organizations move back to Afghanistan and leave us alone? With stability Pakistan has enough mechanisms to revive its economy.

They will not. That is the problem. Do you think they will jus forget years and years if military ops and just move onto Afghanistan ? NO.

The TTP are all Pakistanis. They will think this as a victory to them and start operations with a renewed vigor.

Did the Mujaheddin stop fighting once the Soviets pulled out of Afghanistan ? Think about it.

No I will not pretend saying this with Pakistan's wellness as my priority but with a selfish motive that what happens in Pakistan affects India as well.

After all which Indian does not want US cutting down on the BVRAAMS,F-16s and the OHP frigates getting transferred to Pakistan ? And you can forgett the submarines too from France or Germany.

.
There are some lessons for us:
1) We should base our economy without relying on US , IMF and World Bank because white elephant can degrade us any time. And remember strong economy leads to strong defence.
2) We have got a chance to break CIA RAW network in Pakistan.
3) After lossing aid , we will able to make free and fair trial of Davis.
4) And you now Afghan card is also there.

.
Yeah but we'd survive sanctions as we previously did too...
US had never imposed a complete economic sanction/embargo on Pakistan. Those famous sanctions were all military related sanctions.

.
no, no.

think about that.

why do we need to escalate things to give them the pretext to make us enemies outright, forgive me if i sound rude but thats a bone headed scheme.

right now we have the moral high ground, we are in the right with RD and if they try and harm us for this we still have the moral high ground.

we dont need to make enemies, we need to slowly wean ourselves away from us interference, not give them a pretext to reverse the situation on us.............

because if the headlines change from "CIA AGENT CAPTURED BY PAKISTAN" to "PAKISTAN BLOCKING FOOD TO BRAVE US SOLDIERS" then that will be bad.

Whatever "moral highground" you have wont stand a chance. The United States has this way of convincing everyone else they are right , no matter what. Wait and watch how they justify every dirty trick they start pulling.....At least they will be able to convince their own people..

LOL @ Indians and their economic sanctions on Pakistan.

Is Davis, a mere one man, worth that much that so much will be sacrificed by the USG for his sake? pulling out of Afghanistan, risking thousands of soldiers lives, scrapping up billions of dollars of planning, all for one man?

And economic sanctions? on what grounds and justification? this isn't 2001 any more. Pakistan has done nothing illegal by holding and thinking of trying Davis in it's courts. If, however, trampling all international laws, economic sanctions are imposed by the USG, they'll be the bad guys wroldwide and Pakistan will have sympathsies of many a nations around the world.

@ toxic
US is not in a position to boycott us. US has come Afghanistan with their own will but will go back with our will.

Where do you think TTP came from? Where was it before 9/11? TTP has Pakistan own its agenda agreed but the supporters are in Afghanistan. Once US pulls out, so will those supporters, i dont want to name them because that would lead to another long never ending debate. WIth US gone Pakistan is the only power broker left in the region and we will make sure that a friendly regime is installed in Afghanistan.

I think u should have a look on this news.

GEORGIA OFERS ALTERNATIVE ROUTE TO AFGHANISTAN

http://http://www.cacianalyst.org/?q=node/5272

No only Indians should because what you failed to realize is that these options are there, were there all along, yet the supplies go through Pakistan. Do you think NATO and US commanders are stupid enough to continue their supplies from a hostile country when according to you they have an equivalent alternative to that.Think again

We will eat grass but we will not compromise on national sovereignity and security.

Well I'm guessing that the stoppage of aid would also include stopping the CSF. The logistics support cost us big time, and we depend upon the CSF to keep that route open. In all practicality that route would close as the money dries up automatically.

Plus all Pakistanis would be asking themselves that why are we helping them, like physically helping them and making ourselves a target in the process and not getting anything out of it. Surely no one believes the Americans to be our "Maamay day putar".

The primary reason all Pakistanis hate the US aid is so that we can call an end to US dictation on the War efforts. We don't just simply hate free money obviously.

Nobody is saying no to fighting the terrorists and not pretending anything will go back to Pre-911 scenario for Pakistan. However we will be the biggest fish in the pond then, no US, no India. Just Afghans, Talibans and Pakistanis. Obviously the reason behind not releasing Davis is the fact that we have lost trust upon true US intentions in Pakistan. So what is better, fighting the US spies and the Taliban or just fighting the Taliban who will be busy grabbing power in Afghanistan as well.

Obviously Taliban's power is not infinite, they can fight in Afghanistan or fight in Pakistan. I still see it working in our favor.

Also let me revert back to my earlier statement, the US is bluffing. It will back off seeing that Pakistan has only to gain from the escalation of this issue and hence their man won't be freed anyway.

You will NOT be the biggest fish in the pond. I think the US will still maintain a base level contingent to make sure their influence remains even if the majority of the troops have gone.

And dont you guys always discriminate between the good and the bad taliban ? The good Taliban may be occupied with Afghanistan but the bad Taliban will once again remain in Pakistan. And what if the US still carries out airstrikes through its drones ?? What can Pakistan do ??

And I dont want to mention the economy part where the real pain will be felt. Does Pakistan have a very dedicated finance minister who can turn around the situation without any external help. If you guys want to make the US an enemy so openly, well what can I say ? Your country, your destiny.
