Confirmed: Iran and Russia to Co-Produce Su-30 Fighter Jet

Of course Russia is the only real seller, but I'm afraid that they cannot be trusted to make everything go smoothly. First they will get pressured by the US and Israel not to sell. Then they will put the price up. Even if Iran does get them, Russis is notorious for offering poor after sales support.

Add the fact that the Russians are extremely touchy about transferring technology to even mame a screw, and you have probably the worst people ever to do business with.
Well, think about it in terms of opportunities.
Between Russia and China, Russia's offerings are vastly superior in terms of platforms.

Secondly when it comes to after sales support, the benefit of buying a platform like Su-30 is that there is an international supply chain (that is apart from Russia) available. Which means that there are other players in the market from which close to everything of a Su-30 can be bought.

That means there is India and China. China produces an older version of Su-30 and India produces the modern Su-30. But both make almost everything.

That means that if Russia dawdles, there are other suppliers that can take up the slack. And both India and China are independent players with our independent foreign policy in the global arena - as shown when both defied international sanctions against Iran.

Which means the situation what happened with your F-14's will never happen again.

Also, if Iran buys ToT then it would be a boon for us as well. It increases international availability of parts for us as well and possibly drives down international costs.

China and Russia respectively offer to fill different niches when it comes to military equipment; neither supplier holds the superlative over the other. Whereas the IRIAF can purchase Su-30M strike fighters for a hefty price, it could equally purchase a larger quantity of J-10Cs that will offer Rafale-esque capabilities, and at a presumably lower lifetime cost.

Diversifying options beyond one country may precipitate logistics issues, but with Iran purchasing a relatively-modest number of aircraft, the benefits of lessened dependence on one supplier outweighs the risks of logistics problems.

By the way, where did you hear that China produces Su-30s? They are no longer in frontline service.

some people are honest , some are just pretends.
General Aladeen: Why are you guys so anti-dictators? Imagine if America was a dictatorship. You could let 1% of the people have all the nation's wealth. You could help your rich friends get richer by cutting their taxes. And bailing them out when they gamble and lose. You could ignore the needs of the poor for health care and education. Your media would appear free, but would secretly be controlled by one person and his family. You could wiretap phones. You could torture foreign prisoners. You could have rigged elections. You could lie about why you go to war. You could fill your prisons with one particular racial group, and no one would complain. You could use the media to scare the people into supporting policies that are against their interests.

When you say chubby dude with the bad hair cut you mean Trump?

Not quite, but the hair thing..... No, I'm talking about China and Russias' illegitimate, alcohol fetal syndrome-addled love-child, North Korea. Then the Triumvirate of Pariahs will be complete.:fans:
