I wonder why Putin is not helping his new russian citizens. A country like russia should be able to help crimea out of this but people suffer.

There is also a minority of crimean germans and our embassy fears that they will face discrimination now. They could live undisturbed as long it was ukraine but that may change under russian occupation.

The insurgents are currently most interested in seeing the resumption of social welfare payments that Kiev suspended last month out of fear that they were being used to finance the revolt.

So, the rebel in East Ukraine wants the Kiev government to "Resume" the social wealth fare payment to them......

In other word, Russian did not pay them anything.

Now, I don't know about you, but if I were to stand up against my own government with a gun and trying to topple a regime, I would not expect my government would continue my social wealth fare payment lol..

What even amaze me is, Ukrainian government actually still paying those rebel insurgent in Donetsk, Lugansk and possible Crimea until November.....I don't know which failed more..

Doesnt Russia have its own financial merchant ?

Their own system is incredible small and does not even cover entire russia. The infrastructure you need is gigantic. You need not only the financial merchant. You need a card process system

What i find most hilarious is that on one side the russkies say its all ok and Crimea faces no problem. On the other side calls the western sanctions inhumane and cruel.

I am surprised.

Even a poor country like India has made its own financial merchant and card process system. We rolled it out last year itself..and it will take about 5 years to make it pan-India.
The idea behind investing in this was so that financial transactions of Indians are processed on Indian land itself and Western governments not have access to Indian financial transactions.
Secondly the idea is that if India is ever sanctioned, the internal financial transfer network does not collapse.
Thirdly, since it costs less, a lot more people will be able to afford having a card.

A relatively richer country like Russia, which is also very conscious of security would without a doubt have a pan-Russian financial card processing network.

russia is corrupted to the core as you can see. India actually has working industrial complex. Russia lacks this. It depends on oil and gas and is basicly a northern nigeria. Reality is that Putin did not even manage to build a Autobahn between Moscow and St. Petersburg in the last 10 years.

Foreign currency loans to be converted into hryvnia at last year s exchange rate| Ukrinform

KYIV, December 25 /Ukrinform/. The National Bank of Ukraine, along with banks and banking associations, has agreed on basic provisions regarding the restructuring of consumer loans in foreign currency.

The National Bank reported this on its Facebook page.

"The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) held a meeting, during which the main provisions of the draft memorandum regarding the restructuring of consumer loans in foreign currency have been agreed on. Thus the draft memorandum acquired the status of a full-fledged document that remains in the process of signing by all the parties," reads the statement.

The provision of the memorandum envisages the restructuring of consumer loans in foreign currency that were obtained under collateral for property, the remainder of the major part of which does not exceed UAH 2.5 million at the official rate of the hryvnia against foreign currency set by the National Bank of Ukraine on January 1, 2014.

According to NBU First Deputy Chairman Oleksandr Pysaruk, the NBU and banking institutions finally managed to approach the positions of all parties concerned and to create a draft document that would help reduce social tension in society.

The text of the memorandum will be published on the official website of the National Bank of Ukraine after it is signed.
