Colt's Manufacturing Co. has won $57.7 million contract to supply up to 10,000 additional M4 and M4A1 5.56mm carbine rifles to Jordan, Morocco, Afghanistan, Senegal, Tunisia and Pakistan.

Work will be performed in West Hartford, Connecticut, with an estimated completion date of Sept. 20, 2019, US Department of Defense said in a statement Friday.

The Colt M4 is a shorter and lighter variant of the M16A2 assault rifle. It is air-cooled, direct impingement gas-operated, magazine-fed carbine. It has a 14.5 in (370 mm) barrel and a telescoping stock.

Why are we giving our money to US corporations?
There are a number of other better options, why go to US?

well why the hell cant we produce AR pattern rifle literally every country can produce them and not Pakistan hell even Ukraine is also in the process.
if we cannot do it alone then do some joint venture with turkey or some other country.
