Thanks for the detailed information. Is that a genuine ACOG? secondly I get the feeling there is a huge market for AR platform and especially if someone could make AR accessory like in the US.

Nah that is a chinese knock off....in Pakistan is a huge potential for every platform it just needs attention by Govt to make standards to improve quality, eliminate sub standard material.....I have seen veey exvellent quality local glocks as well as glocks with plastic guide rods...we need to embrace the fact that weapons are part of our culture and society and they are going no where.....just regulate the manufacturing......

I never said we were issuing these weapons to LEA or Military Forces, these are bought by vailas like myself and other enthusiasts....last wednesday I visited few of the factories in Peshawar....
Situation is somewhat like this.....
* Upper and Lower is being machined using 7071 AL ......few of them are doing this job n hous on cnc machine while some are procuring these from Punjab.......
* all small parts are being made locally
* stock, rail, grip is being ordered from china
* barrel is being made on machine now.this is good but there is major hiccup.....there is no heat treatment on the barrel hence integrity is questioned....
* same goes for BCG / Bolt Carrier Group....they are machined but not heat treated......
* now coming to the fun part, NATO stuff
- packed new barrel for M4 is available in market, at the price of 50k to 55k
- BCG packed being retailed at 45-50k
- there is barrel of FN Minimi also available which after little tweaking is fitted to M4....now this is heavy bull barrel but since there is tweaki invovlved it requires soldering by some serious professionals in darra and cannot be trusted any tdh
- new Rails for Colt LE with gripnare available in market for 35k.....
Now using these mil spec parts one can actually build a Miltary grade gun under 200k......

There is another option which i was given by one of guys.Body of rifle is made locally,including upper and lower but internals including barrel are imported from US and then fitted locally because according to them there is an import ban on weapons but not on parts.
Tbh,i was thinking of learning CNC and other stuff to solve this issue for once and all.

That is not cost effective as dealers charge you huge margin.....
And this what amdoing right now....in.few days someone is going to bring M4 barrel and bcg for me from Karkhano.....receiever am.getting locally.....
You can ask people.travelling from states or.canada to bring in small parts for you like charging handle, pins, rails, there is no emargo on that.....
A suggestion.....Mil Spec M4 buffer tubes ae also available locally....get those and.you can use stock from alexpress or better airsoft oems

Trigger, receiever, barrel, bcg and gas block assemblies are considered firearm to be crucial parts for firearm hence you cannot bring those in handcarry or courier.....why not.get these part locally?

damn I have too many questions but ill keep it brief. What's the life of bolt and barrel like? How good is the knock off ACOG compared to original?

You can ask as many questions as you want man....no issue there.....I haveused any optic yet so cannot comment but I have read bad thing about them.....however aimpoint t2 and bushnell trs 25 clones have been praised well in mny youtube reviews....
