Heavy, old design, which is quickly becoming a hindrance.

In my opinion we must stick to the AKs because of its reliability and low cost compared to the ARs. The new AK variants have improved features plus their reliability availability and low cost.

Newer AK designs aren't really all that different from older designs, thus have the same issues. Plus, the newer designs cost about the same as the m4s.

Just as a side note, not that I want Pakistani-US relations to get worse, but some general advice if I was in charge of Pakistan; Pakistan shouldn't take them. Pakistan should think about other sources, until relations between Pakistan and the US improve.

On another side side note, Pakistan should also think about disqualifying any rifles (from the new army rifle competition) that the US has a hand in (yes, that includes the SCAR), and quicken the pace of announcing a winner. This will ease pressure on Pakistan, as it would should that Pakistan has other options, and doesn't need to rely on the US.
