I always support actions taken by the society itself to protect the minorities. Islamic Republic protects all religious holidays of Sikhs, Hindus or Christians. They are officially recognised too. Legally speaking the only minority that we are activly persecuting are Ahmadis. We can throw them in jail for 3 years for saying ''Salam o Alikuym''.

Taking part in non-muslim festivals is clearly NOT permissible for muslims.

And its really amusing how people expects muslims to bend over backwards to show that they r tolerant. I mean this whole islamophobic narrative of muslims being intolerant is really ludicrous. Interior Sindh is the most secular part of Pakistan. Not surprised to see this.

We must facilitate minorities to celebrate their festivals. However, taking a full-day leave to celebrate other's festivals is beyond me. We Pakistanis need to work 25 hours of 24 hours and that too 365 days of the year in order to make up for the time lost instead of taking leaves.
