Read history books before blaming that I talk from hearsay. Among all the Muslim organizations in the undivided India, it was only the Moududi's JI which moved against a separate Muslim homeland, Pakistan. They took to the streets to demand a non-partition.
Today, young people follow Moududi party without knowing this reality. JI is against BD as it was also against Pakistan. Its leadership may still want an unified Muslim platform within an Akhand Bharat. If not, why you guys bully Bd or accept bullying by your like minded people?
Seems AL is only competing with JI to dismantle this country. But, at least AL is named 'Bangladesh' Awami League, but it took the govt a long forty years to force JI to put the suffix 'Bangladesh.' This party's philosophy is alien to the creation of Bangladesh.
Both Ji and AL should be disbanded someday in the future.
I wish if there were a political party like Jammati Islami in BD that would be patriot, democratic, competent, organized, committed, dedicated, educated, honest, fearless, smart, talent, polite and modern, but...but without the religion thing. I mean something National Jamati Party.
But isn't it religion that is getting them organized, honest, fearless, polite, dedicated, democratic and incorruptible? anyway, there have been such leaders before, aka the likes of hitler and mandela but such people come by not often. Nothing wrong with dreaming thoughI wish if there were a political party like Jammati Islami in BD that would be patriot, democratic, competent, organized, committed, dedicated, educated, honest, fearless, smart, talent, polite and modern, but...but without the religion thing. Apart from the fearlessness, someone can have other attributes without being religious I think, like honest, democratic, educated etc.
Religious guys are more prone to be fearless to establish his ideology in his country in a hope of being rewarded in the hereafter, I think.

Perhaps I understand your concern. IMO an Islamic government doesn't have to be bigotic and there might be a way to retain many modern values within an Islamic system, but the kind of blind loyalty to traditional Islamic rules and rulings that makes certain people follow an Islamic party is itself a potential cause/source of bigotism. However logical or valid these people are not going to give a damn to your individual understanding of Islam or an Islamic state. They would perhaps think it fitting that an Islamic ruler should and must impose a particular lifestyle on people (as opposed to 'Islam by example') despite the counterproductivity of such measures. Moreover it would be really frustrating if these people would be solving any twenty first century problem by analyzing seventh century solutions of seventh century problems.
Note one point. There is no "Shonar Pathor Bati." What an Islamic govt can be other than bigotic? While most of the Islamic dictators are removed by bullets, Bangladesh has already established a democracy to remove them. So, why should you propose to go back to the past?
Can you tell me in which age Islamic values were democratic or were compatible with democracy? Islam has established the most rigorous form of autocracy, all in the name of religion.
True but have any such person stepped up? not except Gen Zia that i could think ofApart from the fearlessness, someone can have other attributes without being religious I think, like honest, democratic, educated etc.

True, but do you think if those other attributes can be found in not just a few individuals but a large group of people who gather for a cause esp in a third world country?
