COAS General Bajwa arrives in London on official visit

indian and pakistani soldiers have a huge smile when they visit britian. notice the similarities in uniform with the British soldiers? British Raj still has its influence on the subcontinent.

Absolute rubbish post. Take your meds little buddy.

Your post is absolute rubbish!
One forum makes you a think tank and you are thinking yourself head of analysis in White House.
You can rate my comments negative as many as you like. These negatives have zero value for me. you can also ask your friends to add more negative ratings or even ask the owner to ban me. I won't lose anything Mr. thinktank.

Bro what you are saying is correct but your argument has 2 flaws ...

1. You are over generalizing it on everyone. Thw phenomena you are referring to is applicable on landlords like shah mehmood qureshi, bhutto and chaudhris i.e. the persons who sold thw nation.
2. Your statement is not aplicable on this visit as it is just an attempt to create military ties and has no reference to our colonial era ...
I am referring behavior of Pakistani community as a whole, that was my first comment.

Then some genius came and all gone off topic.

Lets end this stupid discussion ... our behaviour is fact but good thing is a lot of us are now realizing this ... give sometime to others ... lets end this as we need unity among us ...

How stupid one must be to label a nation of 200 million on the accounts of a select few? We're three times the size of Italy and quite familiar with rule of law so stick to the topic: Chief wasn't there as a slave to the "British Raj" he was there because he commands the Army of a strategic ally.
his commentary is absolutely irrelevant and waste of time to respond.
COAS visits a first world country in the west that just happens to be our former colonial master but that is a past .. well over 70 years. just look at the reception.

so sad people don't realize that army men don't have time for butt-hurt sentiments they are very practical and busy. they don't waste time on pleasantries to appease the hurt ego, if they don't see any benefit they wont waste time inviting our officers and our chiefs and would just shake hand in a gathering of some other host country and be done with that.

finishing off with this picture where our female officers have visited NATO HQ in Brussels.

note for those who are still upset about colonial past. Belgium and 99% of the NATO members have never been Pakistani masters.

what is the point of continuing to talk about off topic nonissue? COAS visits Europe, America, Middle East ,Asia ,Africa and Europe as well. he is not doing it to get any approval. he is past that.

We are still proud of British Raj. No need to turn a blind eye to that reality.

Once attended a gathering. Former FM Hina Khar was talking about her elders' services for Raj, "Proudly". A Turk friend of mine was looking at me with wide-open eyes.
BTW, check how Shah Mahmood Qureshi cunningly killed Ahmed Khan Kharal, a man standing against Raj, and how today's Shah Mahmood Qureshi is proud of this act of his grandfather.

It's not important what we say about ourselves. Important is what people say about us and people say we are proud of our slavery period.
Coconuts. More in Pakistan than South Bharat or Sri Lanka I tell you....

Good thing. We should bridge our gaps and move on. The relationship can be mutually beneficial. Better than us going to the Americans, at least.

As regards the Raj, it was a long time ago. We can't hold it up forever. Bloody hell, the Americans fought two very bloody wars with the British and now they're both pitthi pals; they've realised the futility of having needless grudges.

Plus, we aren't exactly in a position to go headfirst against them.
The USA are EQUALS if not more than there colonial master. Pakistan should at least aspire to being equals...
At the moment we are longing for the days of being "House Negroes"...

Raj gifted us Pakistan. No Raj. No Pakistan. So why should there be hard feelings?
There would be no need for Pakistan in the Subcontinent of India if it were not for the British Raj/East India Company. Do not forget this!!!!
As @war&peace has said, the British reluctantly accepted Pakistan and a smaller (West) Pakistan than that desired by the Pakistan movement. The reason they reluctantly accepted the Pakistan movement was because the Khilfah Movement and the Khilifat was rendered useless...a great strategic achievement by the British....

UK&US close relationship and high maintenance are usually the biggest drawbacks from buying from them, It must be a really important product or something else is being discussed
It depends on how you negotiate the deal and how you play your cards.

Some idiots have to humiliate the nation by insulting its COAS and other leadership without any sound evidence. Ask him, does he possess any insider info? does he know the agenda of the visit? A pathetic liar....

why would they when they have india?

Pakistan has a more prominent hold on the UK. The mayor of London is an example including several key government positions are also held by Pakistanis. The West knows India's headed towards its own destruction, especially because of the headless-chicken situation of Indian Government in Kashmir. Through Brexit Britian would stand alone next to a powerhouse EU. They need all the business they can get & Pakistan has a critical key position in their survival as an Independent Nation.

On top of this the U.K Military hasn't been seeing much strategic action lately which is why they require relations with Pakistan Military which has fought one of the most brutal war in the most difficult terrains. They send their soldiers to train in our conditions while our soldiers continue to graduate from their most prestigious military schools. It's a win-win situation for both so let's not undermine our Importance on the global stage.

As you wish champ.

That's perhaps because we are slaves as our guys become mayor, ministers, baroness (warsi), a large number of MPs and even Ch. Sarwar governor Punjab was an MP and also the representative of UK in EU and thus he played a significant role in Pakistan getting GSP+ status from EU that helped our exports. Similarly, Pakistan military has traditionally had good relations though it is not all bed of roses and UK has done quite a few negative things as well but that's the geo-politics. However, if we have some advantageous relationship, why should we sabotage but some nonsensical ego issues. We can't live without good trade partners and UK is still a major economy and an influential country on the world stage. That's why I say that we should learn from China. Also see that UK is helping Turkey in TFX project with Rolls Royce providing jet engine technology and for this very reason I think TFX will be a great 5th gen A/C and PAF should collaborate with TAF.

*British Pakistanis. Not Pakistani foreign assets like sleeper agents who can be activated if Britain "misbehaves" and whatnot. British Indians also hold prominent positions.
The West knows India's headed towards its own destruction, especially because of the headless-chicken situation of Indian Government in Kashmir.

Is that why they're selling technologically advanced military equipment to India and turning a blind eye to its occupation of Kashmir? Is that why so many trade deals are being signed with India and it was one of the first countries approached by the UK after the Brexit vote?

Through Brexit Britian would stand alone next to a powerhouse EU. They need all the business they can get & Pakistan has a critical key position in their survival as an Independent Nation.

It won't be alone. The EU will not suddenly become completely antagonistic towards the UK but they will be competitors in terms of trade in many regards. Pakistan currently holds no valuable position other than CPEC which is not even fully implemented yet. We'll see how valuable it makes Pakistan, or perhaps it will just make Chinese overseas assets in Pakistan valuable. As of current, India (and China) are much more valuable allies.

Why do they "require" strategic action? Not every country is a war-mongering banana republic with a military that influences civilian life to the extent that it needs to demonstrate its prowess regularly. In the UK, there are bigger concerns going on at the moment such as about funding for the NHS, a slow economy and Brexit. I haven't heard of British soldiers training in Pakistan either.

Pakistan has yet to find its place in the global stage, hopefully, one where it is not subservient to the interests of other nations, whether they are "Iron brothers", "Ummah brothers" or whoever.

I agree that visit is part of grand strategy and our elite is still mentally slave is another topic has nothing to do with the visit of army chief and for thay matter ww should have strong diplomatic and institutional countries will all powerful countries of the world including both us and russia ... this is the need of the day and he ia doing it for us ...

Lets close this off topic discussion or open a separate thread to discuss the issue as our more than 90% parlimanterian more than 50% bureauvrates and armed personnal have a history of serving britishers ... this is a topic worth discussing but it is not linked with institutional relationships which we need to maintain

Highly unlikely, considering he's meeting military officials and not ministers. Not every country substitutes politicians with generals, you know. It's just a good will visit.
