COAS extension confirmed?

.
Properly speaking very few militaries [which form part of the establishment] are entirely apolitical. Depending on context, for example in war or when countries face threat of war and maintain large militaries they begin to exert enormous influence into the other aspects of a nation including politics. For instance during 1950/1960s Cold War Pentagon exerted huge influence on US policy and still holds lot of clout. You can see how Trump has struggled to get out of Afghanistan because the US military establishment is not happy leaving.

In Pakistan's case because of the wars with India and threat the military always has had a huge shadow and as we know even has ruled Pakistan directly and incubated every single Pakistani political dynasty including Bhuttos and Sharifs. They all were 'selected'. So to use the word 'apolitical' is a joke.

Hahahahahaahahahaha Hahahahahaahahahaha Hahahahahaahahahaha Hahahahahaahahahaha ........................ !

Under which rock has this life been living?

I dont see what's the issue when Indians and these policy wonks who are mostly neo con make a big deal over the involvement of the millitary in Pakistani politics

*Granted I curse the same generals like Zia and Mushy for doing the dirty yank work and bringing in the dissolution of a rival Power the USSR and WOT imposed on us cause of spinlesness and real estate dealings on the west

PMIK did the right thing by extending Gen. Bajwa. The duo provide the political stability for real tough decisions to be made because PMIK's political mandate was very weak and fragile. And it's not that others would have got strong mandate either. Pakistan is a divided polity and the army provides it the backbone or else it would be a banana continously tripping like Somalia.

West does sound hypocritical when their own Armed Forces are heavily involved in their foreign and geo political context I mean If you congressmen from a district with millitary base you choose to support closing or shedding bases good luck getting reelected again

1) Forum notification said you have tagged me.

2) Stop propaganda of putting Azadi March at odds with the Armed Forces. The march is political and the armed forces are apolitical. Go invent something new to save the government.

You are a mental case and need to be institutionalized. Blaming 70 years of problems on IK...,IK doesn’t have a magic Wand to fix things.

IK is making the right decisions. We need reforms and make the institutions independent from the government interference. Government need to set the budget for them and let them work. What FBR and NAB has done in last 14 months is a great accomplishment of IK government. Some people may thing it’s too little but we are on the road of recovery. We will start making money from Kartarpur corridor from November 2019. Tourism industries will grow in next 5 to 10 years and that would be another source of revenue for government. Hopefully Peshawar, Lahore and Karachi metro will be ready in 12 to 18 months.
With or without IK, country is going in right direction.

In fact I am 90% sure had Pakistan not inherited 1/3 of the British Raj armies in 1947 there would have been no pakistan by 1957.

He already is. Where do you think he posts from? Hospital ward with free wi-fi access and max security at the exit doors. Notice he has 1,000,000,000 posts to his credit but with zero content.

Large militaries always begin to influence/impact wider society including politics, culture, industry, economy etc. If you look at US movies from 1950s you will notice how often they are based around soldier characters or are military themed. Even US president like Eisonhower was ex- chief of Us Army. Fashion, music and even industry gets effected.

Edit: Wrongly quoted.. correction done.

As per various media reports, 3-year extension of General Qamar Javed Bajwa has been signed and approved by both President and PM of Pakistan today.

It means Maulana Diesels long-term plan of pressurizing government into rethinking its decision of extension failed even before the official start of Dharna tomorrow. Your thoughts?

Firstly, the second tweet in your post was nothing less than an online garbage by some troll.

Secondly, spare these topics from political measurement fist. The extension has to do more with strategical issues and Pakistan security as compare to a petty issue of Maulana Dharna or any other political circus.

i think it would be much better for army and nation if coas refused extension like Raheel Sharif did,new person create new wave of optimism and enthusiasm in institution

Of course. Even the best govt cannot do anything with such levels of debt left by previous govt. Imagine that paying 42 percent of total budget on interest payments.

Bring a map of India and Pakistan's growth from the last 20 years and then feel the real pain and the real terrorism Pakistanis have gone through.

While 70 thousands of Pakistanis died of militancy, 220 million part died because they got looted of their future and were subjected to face situation we are going through. While India reached from $20 to $400 Billion dollars reserves economy, Paksitan reached from $4 to $20 and that too after taking excessive foreign loans. Blame terrorism for it, but blame Governemntsof those times who were inept, incompetent and non-deserving to lead a Nation.

------------ Propaganda mouthpieces will have to invent new ways to play victim card instead of dragging military to vent frustration. Political Section is available to play Nawaz, Imran Khan, Zardari, Maulana etc games.

Wait...I’m getting floundered here. How’s this anti army? Or badmouthing to army? Am I not fully understanding his (@Retired Troll) post or you just misinterpreted it, Eagle?
