If you followed him on Ricks list on CNN he was always the guy getting to the bottom of things and looking at both sides of the picture. That is rare in the U.S. media.

Ted Turner owns CNN, that aside. Rupert Murdoch and the Murdoch family own NewsCorp which owns Fox News, 2nd Largest shareholder of NewsCorp with 7% of holdings is Saudi Oil Tycoon Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal, also the largest shareholder of Citigroup with an estimated Networth of 19.2 Billion dollars. All of the bull that comes from Fox news and their Neo-Con constituents is about business first, politics second. As long as their coverage doesn't bother Bin Talal Middle East oil ventures and why the U.S should start investing in renewable energy then they're OK..

It's not about ownership, but control and influence. If most of the editors, anchors, and analysts share an ideological bent, then the media coverage will reflect that.

I hate to say it, but Arabs in particular and Muslims in general, are abysmally pathetic at public relations. Partly it is because of culture. Muslim societies tend to be very patriarchal and top-down traditional where dissent is confused with disrespect. And Islam, or the beaurocracy of Islam, is highly dogmatic: no one may dare to question a mullah's preachings.

It is this attitude of 'the boss is a dictator' that permeates the culture and makes people less adept in the finer points of subtle coercion.

One famous case that comes to mind is the Egyptian owner of a famous French newspaper (or magazine) who fired his editor for printing the Mohammed cartoons. As a result, the entire staff staged a protest and got him reinstated with an apology from the owner. It hadn't occured to the cluless owner to do things the Western way by hiring and planting 'his' people, i.e. those who shared his ideology.

I had a feeling he had it coming. I watched him in South Florida when he was with Channel 7 news. He probably didn't realize how his words in that show would resonate with concerned people. I think he could have given a more seasoned interview.

But he does have a damn good ground for wrongful firing.

Truth?..what truth...that Jon Stewart and the "Jewish" minority are putting the Hispanics down and that Stewart is a bigot?

Jon Stewart is the smartest liberal voice on television today.I am surprised that some one like you who is always seeing Anti -Islam angles in American media is not defending the Stewart who blasted everyone involved in opposing the mosque near Ground zero including the Anti Defamation league.

Sanchez is made fun off by Stewart not because he is Hispanic but because he made too many mistakes on air.Case to point his firing.
