Brahmos can do Mach 6.5 and 550km with sligh configuration as has been PROVED. I feel sad for them at a time when India is becoming a world beater and showing it's might, Pakistan lis in shambles and even then says it's cycle of self destruction is God's will. Has smaller range,only reaches that speed in terminal stage[many older russian missiles from 1970s can do the same],can't do sea skimming evasive manuevres,can't hit fast moving targets.Its warhead has also half the size of barhmos and far less destructive.

I think the missile can change launch profile and trajectory depending on the need...
The chinese company who makes these missiles does offer many types of seekers for different circumstamces.
The missile has rear fins which dont drop off,as no stage seperation happens,so it is plausible that missile can manoever all the way to the target and can take evasive actions..
It only suits large slow moving target because fast movimg targets need contnuous tracking and the missile might need very high g manoevering...
Both these characterictics will increase the cost of missile because much more computational power will have to be integrated and missile body will need carbon fiber or some super alloy construction to maimtain intgrity during high g manoevers.

It is carried by a jet And jet will fire only when it is at good range to the ship. With Mach 5 at terminal stage. Even if no warhead will have Huge impact and Destroy a 100m ship with warhead surely is deadly weapon. In any case if it is mach 5, it definitely isn't a hypersonic ****, and well, it definitely isn't a 'tough job' for India....and in any case, since its 'made in China' well we can expect several of their JF17s exploding, before it even hits our carrier....

In any case, since the jets need to come 'close' to the ship, we can expect our carrier to last forever. Why? SImple....how would a PAF jet even get into a 1km square radius of the Indian navy, without being shot down???

Brahmos/yakhont can fly at 10 m altitude ,almost grazing the sea.This makes it very very difficult for missile defences to engage it at that velocity plus such low envelopement angle.Without sea skimming manuevering variant its near impossible to get past integrated carrier battle group air defenses,like BARAK -8,SHTIL-1,BARAK-1 and CIWS layered defenses.
Also that 180-240km is fairly close,given that this is launched from jf-17 it will have to get that close long before which it will be picked up up new AESA ELTA radars on CBG protection assets,without even considering the fact that a CBG always has CAP mig-29ks on air,to challenge these and pick them up even earlier on their onboard airborne radars.[And jf-17 vs mig-29k is a battle favourable to the latter].Also Any supporting AWACS/AEW will see these coming again a huge distance away,so chances of even getting close enough to launch them are low.

More than one can be launched from JF 17s making interception very difficult.

To kill a carrier in carrier battle group is tough job (though not impossible)
1. First line of defense is Patroling aircraft (su30mki/MiG29K)
2. second layer of defence is Air defense ships (usually frigates n subs) with 3 layer of security, LRSAM, MR-SAM, SR-SAM
3. 3rd layer of security is Carrier itself, the SAM on carrier
4. 4th layer of security is gatelling gun, it create a wall of bullets in front of invader...
Finally, if missile hit Carrier the massive size of carrier itself is defense , It will be unusable but not destroyed...

cm400 follows a ballistic trajectory..easy to detect and intercept compared to sea skimming and highly maneuverable cruise missiles.

First two layers are taken care of as missile attains level flight at 50km..and MKI and sams cant reach there.
