Performance of Pakistan airforce in 1971? Worst. Around 94k troops surrendered during 1971 and because they didn't trust their own government, there airforce and navy too due to there poor performance in war. Most of the time Pakistan was ruled by army unlike India and the army always tried to make themselves strong so Pakistan also invested in fighter plans and navy too much. They had modern equipment of that time for all the three branches of the army. But the machine didn't fight. It needs man skill and bravery and Pakistan army lacking of that. Despite of all modern aircraft 94k solder surrendered !
well this shows how the facts of war have been twisted in India...
Firstly there was only one corps in East Pakistan.
A corps has 3 divisions (14-9-16) Division, A division has 3 brigades each, and each brigade has 3 units.... you can have 1 or 2 more units depending on the structure...
A unit has 800-1000 soldiers... lets take 800 as a sample size, 27 units were in East Pakistan during equals to 21,600 Soldiers....
Lets say we had support units and make it a round 30,000...
now a question to you buddy how did you come up with 94000 troops???
the problem is that you added all civil forces and families as troops...
now come to airforce, there was only 1 sqd (Tail choppers) that too of f86 sabers... and by the way at that time the US had sanctioned Pakistan?
by which way was PAF tech superior....
Thirdly India cries every day after mujhahedeen attack, and blames on Pakistan, what about india supporting mukti bahini???
There was no indian bravery, IA had unprecedented numerical superiority.... if the bravery was so much then why didnt you capture West Pakistan......
