Communist parties have held power in Kerala and West Bengal for decades. They are perfectly legitimate and are voted into power.

The Naxalities/Maoists however are a banned faction and currently hiding in the jungles of Chattisghar

You are delusional and have absolutely no clue about Indian politics

But they have been elected to remain in power. West Bengal commies are totally different than their Chinese and Maoists counterpart. Actually they are kind of arch enemy of Maoists!

Even for the Communists in Kerala and West Bengal ,its more about the person in power rather than the ideology.

I doubt any general Indian voter has through knowledge about the ideology, they simply vote for those who make more attractive promises.

They even started a small militia force (Salma Judum or something) to fight the Maoists right?

Yes the local CMP which has amazing organized cadre force created some kind of rag tag militia to fight off the Maoists.

we're completely unassociated with the maoists. they have nothing to do with china and nothing to do with chinese ideology. however i sympathise with their struggle for justice.

the communist party in west bengal and kerala are good for advanced developing or developed economies, so they're too early for india's stage of development. india needs a few decades of maoist rule to quickly modernize the country before the current communist party in those 2 states will be effective.

i think china will definitely support or at least not veto India because India is becoming China's one the biggest trading partner and there are vast trade reforms happening between China and India and all these are needed for china to grow and at such a time (because this century belongs to China and India) china wouldn't like to take a wrong move..

.
Why should this be considered a "surprise"? It is only logical.

China says understands India Security Council desire

(Reuters) - China said on Tuesday it understood India's desire to gain a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council, where China is the only Asian member.

U.S. President Barack Obama, during a visit to India this week, endorsed New Delhi's demand for a permanent seat as part of a "reformed Security Council"

"China supports appropriate and necessary reforms to the U.N. Security Council," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei told a regular news briefing.

"China understands India's desire to enter the Security Council. China is willing to keep in contact with other countries, including India, and participate in negotiations on the entrance of more developing countries," Hong added.

Changing the makeup of the Security Council, however, could be a long and difficult process which may face resistance from other permanent menbers.

China and India have touchy relations on a number of fronts, including disputed borders in the Himalayan mountains. China has recently stepped up its claims to Arunachal Pradesh.

The U.S., Britain, France, Russia and China have held permanent seats on the Security Council since 1971, when the People's Republic of China took over the seat held by Taiwan.

In 2005, widespread anti-Japanese demonstrations in Chinese cities accompanied Japan's bid for a permanent seat on the Security Council.

Other states with a potential interest in a Security Council seat include Germany and Brazil. An expanded Security Council could also potentially include an African state, such as South Africa, Egypt or Nigeria.

Mr. Jiang said the same thing in 1948. One year later he ended up on the island of Taiwan with his cronies.

Too bad Sri Lanka is already taken.

Also note that North Korea and India both have vice-minister level ambassadors.

If you're following the notion that history repeats itself, then you're flawed in your thinking since no "great revolution" ever happened in India esp a communist one for that matter.....But yes in the case of China Im sure it very well may be possible.....

You also tend to forget that there are more religious people than communists.....Its been the religion in the subcontinent that has driven the will to survive....and I hardly think that the communists with their athiest ideology will even be able to make a dent in Indian politics.....LOL! Do you think the 170 million muslims of India or the 800MM Hindus will part with their thousand year old religious beliefs....?
Just look at your Uighir problem.....now multiply that exponentially when dealing with India....

The history of the Indian subcontinent that very well can repeat itself is that not so long ago, we contributed 1/3rd of the world GDP.....something that we are working to achieve....

Regarding the highlighted statement.....It was China that upgraded its mission...which wasnt prompted by India....
So its China that feels the need to have more important dignitaries in its diplomacy with India.....and Im not surprised that NK has the same since the NK politicians and situation are tricky that require seasoned diplomats...

It is annoying as hell to read your posts. Please learn proper punctuation.
