And now you are into semantics again. Let me get back to this, since you are in CRC mode.
This is my point.
your point is based on 2 things.
1) Most, if not all, right wing supporter do not care nor do not know the hidden agenda
2) Most, if not all, American against militarism
In a sense, both point are correct, and in a sense, both point are incorrect. Depending on your personal view and how you lean politically.
For you, an obvious left winger will find a way to justify what the right wing's ideology is wrong and they are buying off liberal media to preach their point. And that most people are simply don't care, nor don't know what's going on. Thus, the population can be sway.
For a right winger, the reverse is also true, a right wing will accuse of the left wing buying off liberal media and point to the "fact" that "Many American are either too gullible to don't care about the agenda" Which basically, any right winger will use your exact same argument "left wing control media such as new patriot, left turn or fifth estate controlling brainless people like what you are accusing and sway the public that way"
There
CANNOT BE A COUNTRY with only the left or right wing political agenda. And there cannot be none, a good country will balance the political leaning when the time is needed. So if you fail to see my point, let me illustrate to you once more. And being a liberal media complex, view have to be balance, US MIC can buy media and sway the citizens,
BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, SO DOES THHE LEFTIST.
You said that because you are a leftist. While what you accuse of the rightist do, the leftist did the exact same thing, so, unless what you are currently standing outside the whole stance, your point is moot. Because it is the same between a left and a right.
That is the reason why when I debate political issue, I try not to disclose my leaning, because simply,
THAT WILL CLOUD MY OWN JUDGEMENT. I am not here to discuss what and why I am leaning, but rather, how the political system work.
I have always wonder why so people outside the US but lives under reasonably democratic and free countries have such a difficult time with this.
When you say 'switch it off', I understand YOU mean turn that particular channel off and tune into another one, or pass this newspaper/magazine and buy another source.
What is it about 'choice' that the Euros have a difficult time understanding?
He is a leftist, it doesn't matter how democratic and free one country was, he will have this view, even leftist in the US have the same view.
The problem is, if we have to indulge his question, then equally, we will have to indulge the same question from the rightist. And in the end, we will just be ending up debating in a circle. That's political 101
And by outside chance he is not a leftist, then that is the only thing I can say to him, to tell him to turn off whatever bothering him, that's all I can say
