Chinese plans in Seychelles revive Indian fears of encirclement

and their industrial capacity is still the same as in 1962, the only difference is in the past those were donated and now they have to buy

The Chinese navy has still a long long way to go. They have the numbers but most of the ships are almost derelict - vestiges of the WWII junk that still forms part of PLAN.

Opening another front in the Indian ocean at the present juncture is not only bad strategy, but near impossible considering the distances involved from Mainland China.

Priority 1 for China at present is the domination of the South China Sea where most of PLANs assets should be deployed. The situation has become more serious there with the US announcing the deployment of a Carrier Strike Group there as well as positioning of quick reaction forces in Australia, Japan and South Korea.

So why are India's so called strategic experts flapping around like hens in a pig stye?

encirclement of India is not possible, china is securing its energy lanes in Indian ocean and India increasing its assets in south china sea to do the same .today only Indian pm left for south korea.;)

They occupied Askai Chin, massacred several Indian camps and took the Commanding General alive. Indians were too poor to make the bullets worth it. The generals didn't really improve China's reputation either since, well... they were Indian...

Do you really want to compare naval assets?

LOL at indians inferiority! Who is the third world hole that buys WW2 vintage scrap from the UK and calls it the pride of IN? And who is the East Asian superpower that is already is the second largest commercial ship-maker in the world, and the second largest military ship-maker in the world?

LOL then why did indian army surrender so quickly and why didn't you ever do another forward policy again? Did you forget your 1962 humiliation?

LOL at Chinese inferiority ! Who is the third world hole that buys a scrapped out Ukranian ship via fraudulent means / dummy front companies and calls it an aircraft carrier...

China should have military bases in SL, BD and Myanmar. We need the chinese for our own interest and it will ensure the Balance of power in indian ocean and asia at large. I don't know about other BD members but I have no problem if china has a joint naval base with BD navy in the future.

There are only 4 countries in history who have used aircraft carriers in combat and know how to use them- USA UK Japan and India. That Ukrainian carrier u polished, painted and renamed as 'chinese carrier' wont cut against a navy like india which used carriers since 1960 and is building its own ones.

Nice respect for your jawans after they died doing some stupid forward policy ordered by Nehru.

still superior to the way Indian's fight. poke, lose, forces disintegrate, no balls to counter attack, whine about it for the next 50 years

Whatever happened to China in 1971, despite your repeated threats of intervention? :)

60's?
LCA design began in the 80s, and we did it with no prior experiance and little outside help

we have one carrier built in russia, and another one built in india SIMULTANEOUSLY.
