The Chinese navy has still a long long way to go. They have the numbers but most of the ships are almost derelict - vestiges of the WWII junk that still forms part of PLAN.
Opening another front in the Indian ocean at the present juncture is not only bad strategy, but near impossible considering the distances involved from Mainland China.
Priority 1 for China at present is the domination of the South China Sea where most of PLANs assets should be deployed. The situation has become more serious there with the US announcing the deployment of a Carrier Strike Group there as well as positioning of quick reaction forces in Australia, Japan and South Korea.
So why are India's so called strategic experts flapping around like hens in a pig stye?
