Because India would definitely lose a full scale war against China. China has the military advantage and the economic muscle to see through a long scale conflict. In China after a war the dead would be remembered as martyrs and the nation rebuilt and restrengthened.

We don't have a clear military advantage. We don't have an assurance of victory. We're also on the verge of bankruptcy and would struggle to sustain a long term conflict. We have people who'd question why war widows are receiving such large pensions, we have democracy and one of the curses of democracy is that funds to rebuild would be spent in London and Dubai. Our judges would likely issue stay orders against military action if paid enough.

That is why China can take pangay and we can't.

actually, Indians regard Chinese in the same level as their NE state natives, as untouchable savages. India actually appreciated being colonized by the British and regard colonization as the high point of their history.

Losing to Chinese for Indians is tantamount to losing to their Dalit, as that is how they view the Chinese as an inferior people.
