The PLA Marines can't aim accurately; just look at the spread of the fire. And wasn't there supposed to be a new 20 mm chain gun for use on the Chinese ships?

I'm sure that the shots were only warning shots.

The shots looks like they were part of a single burst. If it was warning shots they seems to be spraying it around more than necessary. That burst probably took fraction of a sec.

When you look at the video footage the part where the machine gun were fired from heli seems to have quite a bit of recoil. But I suppose if they go full auto it wouldn't have mattered much.
