We have a press system free to a certain degree mate but to think someone crosses to Taiwan for freedom is a bit too naive. And using a boat for that is even more retarded, there are direct flights man, lol. Yah most of the things are state controlled, but a large proportion of our economy is also private. The mantra goes like this, you can earn as much money and do whatever you like excerpt if its against the law, and overthrowing the government is against the law, it has its weaknesses but why overthrow a government which delivers? As for legal systems, it works but its not perfect, we have trial by jury and a tri judge system. Is it perfect? No. But dont be naive to think UK legal system is impartial.

In China, there is an unspoken social contract, the government must deliver else thf society will try to overthrow it, in UK you have freedoms but the government is mostly just noise. As can be seen from the latest covid incompetence.
