Chinese jets "unsafely" intercept U.S. military plane over South China Sea

Do you even know what is an ADIZ?

Russia and China fighter jets fly into Japanese and US ADIZ a few hundred times a year, maybe their leaders don't think ADIZ is worth a war. :woot::woot::woot::woot::woot:

Under U.S. law and policy, the ADIZ zone applies only to commercial aircraft intending to enter U.S. airspace.

They know if they approach 12nm again, it going to get shot down so better to stay in intentional water. More importantly, it is good to know we respond immediately to intrusion.

International Law does not allow You to shoot down someone "approaching" territorial waters,
but maybe China wants a reputation as a nation of criminals.

China must have shot it down. There is no iota of doubt that SCS belongs to China and China has every reason to shot enemy aircraft in its vicinity. USA is unnecessarily looking for a war to divert public attention from economy issues and its failures. No doubt US days are numbered because they are standing at the wrong side.

The China claim of SCS is supported by how many nations?

What a lie? US ADIZ applies to all aircraft. Not only commercial.

As if Vietnam and Philippine has support of the rest of the world for their SCS claim?

Better change the Wiki entry then...

"The Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) is an area surrounding much of North America – namely airspace surrounding the United States and Canada – in which the ready identification, location, and control of civil aircraft over land or water is required in the interest of national security.[1] This ADIZ is jointly administered by the civilian air traffic control authorities and the militaries of both nations, under the auspices of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) handles the requests of international aircraft and Transport Canada handles Canadian requests. Any aircraft flying in these zones without authorization may be identified as a threat and treated as an enemy aircraft, potentially leading to interception by fighter aircraft.

An aircraft entering an ADIZ is required to radio its planned course, destination, and any additional details about its trip through the ADIZ to a higher authority, typically an air traffic controller. The aircraft must also be equipped with a radar transponder."

Civil aircraft have to report in, Military aircraft are not required to do anything.
All aircraft are subject to interception, but normally would not happen for a civilian aircraft
which has reported in.

International law allows a country to self-defend against intrusion and this reflection should have no double standard.

International law does not allow a country to defend itself against people approaching the boarder,
because that means they are still outside the area controlled by the country.
Only AFTER the boarder has been crossed, actions can be taken.
Outside the border, reckless behaviour should be avoided.
Flying 15 meters from another aircraft is unprofessional.

An air defense identification zone (ADIZ) is NOT territorial airspace.

It is airspace, that is outside or beyond territorial airspace, that a country expect aircrafts to identify themselves and to state their intentions. Failure or refusal to identify self and state intention DOES NOT justify armed response by the querying country.

.
Well the United States will have to deal with this if it truly seeks ' full spectrum dominance'.

I want to stress the fact that we reserve to right to defend ourselves against intrusion.

Noone is arguing that, what is on the table is unacceptable behaviour against people acting according to International Law.
