What's new

Chinese intrusion in Galwan lasted for two weeks before it was cleared by Indian troops

.
first they were saying that china never crossed Lac now they are admitting that china is moving back from inside indian territory ,if they are true they should ask their army chief to visit such area under indian control and also allow independent international media representatives to visit that place

.
Looks like india is showing some muscles to china.
China miscalculated this time. They are normally a very calculating enemy but this time even they got their sums wrong wrt the endgame.
The reason they have moved back is that India has upped the ante.
A few days back doordarshan, Indian official channel interviewed the PM in exile of Tibet .
Also 12000 labourers were sent to complete the border roads Chinese were objecting to.
This withdrawal is a pacifist action to dissuade India from spanking the Chinese even more.

Their is a common no man's land between the 2 LACs which they had occupied.
We will allow media after 42 days like in balakot terror camp.

Be fair. Doesn't India's BSF use camels to patrol the desert border in Rajasthan and Gujarat ?

Besides, your article also cites the German army using mules and American army using horses.

If the Chinese have moved 2kms from their positions from PP14 then it has an enormous importance because that move was purely strategic. What intrigues me is their move in Pangong Tso area. They have no intention to leave that area, neither that area has any strategic importance.

China is holding positions unsustainable over a long period, especially if India decides to keep prodding it.
Pangong Tso is concern but then why nt wait and watch.

Cheer leading isn’t necessary - what we all strive for on here is the true picture. India and its media come up with a different story on a daily basis. Even the same poster comes up with several permutations- we start doubting what the truth is. With respect, Indians have known to occasionally lie and exaggerate their position. Hence the reason today’s news sounds and probably is another lie.

As long as we keep expanding our infrastructure in Northen Ladakh, SSN area the Chinese can sit and watch from where ever they want. Good that GoI did not blink first and did what was exactly needed.

I agree. Even I frankly cant understand what the Chinese were trying to achieve on the ground as India has just doubled down on building the border road. But the Chinese are a different people. Imagine building artificial islands faraway from the mainland to lay claim to the sea.

Well, I am a socialist and find most nationalist wranglings to be boring. I like what Rabindranath Tagore had to say about nationalism.

This is why I am not participating in these India-China fight club threads.

The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) troops, who have been engaged in a standoff with the Indian forces at several locations in eastern Ladakh, on Wednesday retreated by 100 metres in the Pangong Tso Lake area, sources said. The apparent de-escalation in tensions comes just days ahead of the crucial Corp Commander meeting over the situation on June 6.

According to a report in India Today, the Chinese troops have also retreated by two kilometres in the Galwan Valley area, the site of another standoff in the region. India Today reports that Indian troops have also retreated by a kilometre in the locality.

Both the armies have been embroiled in a standoff in the eastern Ladakh sector along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) since early May, after reports of fistfights between the two armies in eastern Ladakh and the Sikkim border

Well done.
Will you also sit on the fence if someone barges into your home and occupies it ?

Now you understand. Chinese are stubborn ppl, the more you try to intimidate us, the more we respond. Imagine a country determined enough to spend millions building and researching some of the most advanced dredgers on earth just to build bases in SCS and fortify it. We are a race who built a wall to defend our country while Indians can't even build a simple wall on Khyber pass against invaders.

Indians have no idea right? Remember when Indians said we will leave Doklam during winter? I am very certain we will stay and fortify those positions unless India offer something so irresistible for an exchange. If we retreated, indians won't be so edgy until now, they would have announced victory.
