Time to show these Honky Kong geese who is the boss. They were taken over by a show of arms and not flowers and were surrendered by their British masters to the Chinese.

PLA Hong Kong Garrison Holds Open Day To Celebrate Anniversary

The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Hong Kong Garrison’s Ngong Shuen Chau Naval Base is open on Sunday and Monday to local residents and students, as Monday marks the 22nd anniversary of Hong Kong returning to China.

The open days are expected to attract about 30,000 visitors. Celebration activities include a national flag-raising ceremony, march-past, military band performance and combat performance.

“I will be brave and tough just like the (PLA) soldiers when I grow up,” Liu Jintao, 4, said after watching the performance at the open-day event.

This year, three naval vessels are also open for visitors, to help local residents have a better knowledge of the PLA Navy.

Visitors could also enjoy a feast of Chinese food at the open day.

Since Hong Kong’s return to China in 1997, the PLA garrison has been holding such annual open-day events featuring abundant celebration activities.

This year’s is the 31st open-day event since 1997 and about 781,000 visitors have participated in the events in the past 22 years.

Even an annual event here you can felt the back handed comments make it sounded like it's a show of force by the PLA to suppress Hong Kong instead of just China trying to encourage patriotism and have friendly interaction between the public and PLA.

PLA Garrison in HK opens barracks to celebrate 22nd anniversary

The People's Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison opened its barracks to local residents over the weekend. It's something it does every year to mark the anniversary of the region's return to the motherland. And for those who are lucky enough to go, it's seen as a great privilege.

Everybody is wrong except China: Correct. For last 40 years (since 1979 when China opened), the whole world was, have been, and still is wrong about China development. I still vividly remember what Western (the everybody) media talked about China since the era of Far East Economic Review (FEER) in early 1990s.
