Chinese forces show off power as Hong Kong gears up for protests

Law of Seas are accepted by strong and weak countries the same. And irrespective of it's strong country, US respects EEZ of Canada, Mexico, Caribbean countries. Almost all the countries respect it except China. Which is now acting as a bully of small countries.

How funny when you say US respect bla bla bla without signing the UNCLOS (United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea).

Of course. Canada and Mexico don't have a meaningful navy, why bother? US just patrolling around the world, especially around Russia and China.

I am confused, didn't you know US dominates Indian Ocean as well? Come on, India navy is just toy compare with mighty Uncle Sam.

haha if only China had the means. The power balance is still in favor of the west. Because of China and it's expansionist ideas, many countries in the east are siding with the west. As long as China do not play a meaningful role it will continue to be influenced by the west.

Do you have a comprehension issue? There is freedom of Navigation in any EEZ. But India have a hot boundary, so war ships are required to notify. US is not seen as an adversary, so we don't see them as a threat. Hence the cold response from Indian military circle.

US is not our adversary. Indian Ocean is just another ocean which we are part of, and US Navy do not dominate Indian Ocean alone. It dominates it along with Japan and it's NATO allies, regularly sends warships to the region. And India is not worried about them.:)

Oh, really?? It seem India gov't have forgotten to officially inform the American of its position. Judging from the tone of the US DoD official statement, US doesn't seem to know that India don't mind.

US has actually gone through the trouble of planning a routine operation spanning a no. of years just to challenge India. Maybe India should tell the US, so they could save the trouble.
