Chinese diplomat and Rauf Klasra in bitter tweeting match over CPEC

So he never provided any evidence for his claim that 100% of labor was imported from China?
This wasn't a 100% import claim but a majority. Again the diplomat would have given him a proof if he had any. Case closed.

Check the source, he said ALL labor was imported from China.

And I'm sure you know, the burden of proof lies on the side that makes the claim. As is the case in every field.

Though it is such a ridiculously absurd claim that maybe he thought no one would ever ask him for proof.

Good topic. China itself is largest user and key driver in clean coal techs.

Let's not blame him too hard, that's not uncommon among journalists. Rather I'd blame the diplomat for lacking skill to deal with such situation, especially when I see the journalist quoting "The Economist", I can guess what's the real deal behind his attack.

Many Chinese diplomats came from language schools, I think more intense communications/PR training is needed, especially for ambassador-level officers. They must be prepared to face tough journalism, counter these attacks effectively, they will happen again. Never underestimate the penetration of western media, they do have strong influence on west-centric minds.

China is the largest coal producer as well as user in the world! What‘s the fuse about it?The guy uses free media blabla as arguements to attack China and he sounds more like an Indian media guru.

Just look at the twitter comments how ordinary Pakistani's have attacked this journalists and supported the Chinese diplomat. Remember Brother America has invested hundred millions of dollars in the media outlets of Pakistan to attack the Pakistan Army and its allies. Its a shame their investment has gone to waste since Afghanistan is falling into Pakistan's influence again.

I agree with klasra on that coal plants issue. The main Focus should be on hydro , solar and wind energy. Since we've suffered that smog menace this year so its wise to keep it green, keep it clean

How the hell are you going to industrialize Pakistan on hydro, solar and wind energy. Basha Daimer would take a minimum of ten years to build and even the smaller dams require a period of 2-3 years in construction.

I don't know why the hell he's complaining that the investment is not giving jobs to Pakistani's. This third grade coconut journalists needs to visit the project and then respond. The Chinese diplomat schooled this cockroach with facts. Honestly its about time the Army takes these traitors to the cleaners.

then don't industrialize it at the expense of our lungs and eco system ---

As for those people who are complaining that China is sending its old coal technology to Pakistan..then clearly you need to rethink your stance. Look at the second video where it a Chinese engineer explains how China is using its latest technology. This cockroach journalists got that wrong too.

Exactly, it doesn't make any sense for us to send our old technology over.

The new technology is better in every way, it's cheaper, more efficient, more profitable.

If you don't industrialize then you will be left behind while the entire world progresses. Honestly give me one country that hasn't developed through industrialization? Furthermore if the electricity crisis doesn't become resolved in Pakistan then terrorism will increase and industries such as the textile will move abroad. So how will you provide jobs?

You simply can't develop an industrial base without coal. America was built on coal, China used coal extensively, India is going big on coal, etc. Green tech has a long way to go. Even developed countries are going back to coal because the prices are so low.

What good will your lungs do when you are starving?

There is no other alternative than to industrialize and start climbing the value chain.

Klasra and other are whining bcoz of secrecy, why dont they publish the feature of plant, number of local and Chinese workers and critical tech they are using? if China can make documentaries on projects in Pakistan why cant we do for our people? why dont they provide contract of orange line to court? why they are making regulators like NEPRA, PEPRA defunct? do they want to control tariff for Chinese plants?

people have some genuine questions which govt should answer before their secret decision come to haunt us..

btw China is not bound to answer anyone here,.. its Govt. of Pakistan whom Klasra should ask all these questions.

Their's a big game being played here Brother. Trust me the American's through their paid journalists wants to destroy CPEC. But the Pakistan Army will not allow that. Remember CCP is King in China, and Pakistan Army is King in Pakistan...no one else matters.

What if Indus turned into another ganga or varanadi ? Forex reserves wont fix the disabled children due to some industrial pollutants . On top of that majority of our beaurcracy consists of @********* who would mortgage their a**** for some batti of a currency notes .

Time changes my friend so do technology and application of technology--- no need to reinvent the wheel---
