Chinese delegation in Moscow orders massive amount of KFC

Dude, that's not land lease, that's right for resource. Land lease is you actually lease the land for X amount of time, and may or may not return to you.

What you are saying is resources right, which is a license for you to have all the resource produced in the X amount of time.

And that's the same as Russia sending you potatoes.
 whatever you want to call it bro, I'm not in control of your own mind. You can freely draw your own conclusion based on the example I give without knowing other details, I don't care.

but one thing I can assure you is that ain't no one is signing a 70-year lease on a foreign land just to grow potatoes. (although 70 years of output of potatoes is by no means a small number if you think about it.)

That's what you get the concept wrong.

You don't lease the land if you just going after the resource, they told you what you get. You give up sovereignty right if you do land lease, China cannot tell UK what to do when UK lease Hong Kong for that 99 years. They can if they are lending you a plot of land to grow stuff (or mine stuff or whatever) that's the difference here.

And 70 years of potatoes is not at all that much.

Behind the scenes the Chinese and Russians love the Western lifestyle. More so than even Westerners themselves.

I agree US fast food is better than Russian fast food. Russia used to be pro west and has lots of western chains, it unmistakenly shows how stupid US is to lose this big market.

Media, ensures products such as fast food, fashion brands, etc are at the top of the value chain.
in spite of the fact, that they are harmful for health.

well, good thing we don't care much about things other than resources nor does Russia have much else to offer, it's not like they are a trillion-dollar consumer market or a tech giant in semiconductors.

It's been only a year since the invasion and we are still in early stages of big developments, just sit back to watch things unfold. however the trend is becoming clearer now that the further Russia gets weakened by war, the deeper it falls into China's economic grip. Maybe soon China will be writing NATO a thank-you note.

You do know there is a reason Russia is resource rich and the biggest country in the world with half the US population and only have 1.4 trillion dollars GDP before the war?

In term of economy, the term you are looking at is "Liability".

so you think the Russians will just stick to their pre-war behavior pattern when they are in fact cornered and threatened like this? Facing the extreme hostility and isolation from the west, they are supposed to just sit idle, await their doom, or better yet, say "we are fucked" and drink themselves to death?

Survival instincts make people do very unexpected things sometimes.

The question is "What could Russia do?"

There are nothing Russia can do other than export their resource, they are not known to be a technological powerhouse, and not a financial hub, not anything even tertiary industry related Literaly no one is depending on Russia on their survival. How do you think Russia can get around?

They have been doing this since Soviet Union dissolved, they have 30+ years to turn this around, and there was no war in this scale in between. Do you honestly think Russia suddenly can get their act together and get out of this shit hole now? They are fuked, with a Capital F. I mean China is free to bail them out if Xi want, but judging from the fact on what Xi does, I don't think he is interested. Maybe if you kill Xi and become President of China, you might do something? I don't know
