it would still have sign if and only if it would still be a nuclear arms state, given the fact that not 20 years before 1970 china was threaten with nuclear destruction by both superpowers, and in 1970 china was still against both super powers.

reasons are easily given see above for a very simple one of being threatened openly by 2 superpowers, thus its for defense only especially given that china has the NFU policy in place

the thinking does not apply to india because essentially India was not threaten with nuclear destruction by anyone, rather it brought nukes to SE Asia prompting Pakistan to develop its own nukes

if india had its test before 1970 the results would be the same, it would depend if india is recognized as a nuclear weapons state, if the world granted india that status tomorrow it would probably sign the NPT soon

Chinese nuclear plan began way before 1962. We have never kept India in mind when we were developing nukes, so please don't quote China as excuses for every dirty thing you Indians have been doing.

1964,china had its first nuclear warhead. china has lots of nuclear weapons for decades, it's unnecessary for china to be jealous of india's nuclear test, nobody dare to use nuclear weapon to target china unless the guy is mad.
no war ,no nuclear war, peace with india for ever is our best choice.

From what i"ve read the border war of 1962 took place for 3 reasons.
1.Macmohan line
2.Tibetian refugees.
3.India's forward policy.

the border dispute between india and china is likely to bring new military conflict in future again.it seems inevitable.

That what people said in 2002 when China claimed that Sikkim was hers,prior to recognizing Sikkim as Indian territory.
There were some instances post 1962 where war situation seemed.But in the end diplomacy prevailed.
Sino-Indian possibility of war from psychologically point of view does exist as long as India Pakistan relations are not peaceful.

The most probable scenario is India accepts Aksai Chin and some the uninhabited bits of territories as Chinese territory in return for recognition of Arunachal Pradesh.

The question is if India decided to resume Nuke testing for its strategic reasons , what can China or any one do about it ? Don't think it will be a repeat of 1998 , we are too interconnected . At the most there may be a vocal protest....
