China may lead Pakistan to path of Economic prosperity just like America led South Korea to the road of development. Pakistanis should fully utilize this God sent Chinese help and avoid making the mistakes like they committed in past when they had every chance to become a developed nation with the help of their Uncle Sam.

Those morons in P. Govt. have no vision or interest in seeing their country developing. If it was not for the army, this country would have been sold for pennies a very long time ago for their personal family gains.

PIA can compete, just cut off it off from the hands of the government and allow for Equal Employment, regardless of nationality, in Executive levels.

We are not. That's why Pakistan has an excellent and fast progressing relationship with Turkey. With many joint economic and defence programs and ventures in the works. One day our relationship with Turkey will be at the same level as it is with China. We are trying to normalize relations with Russia. And enjoy cordial relations with many EU countries.

There's more chances of the Somalians building a spaceship that can travel the galaxy at the speed of light than there is of Pakistan and India ever doing proper business with eachother. Never ever going to happen.

and i think thats what China is kind of doing. Look at Pakistan- a sizeable, big market in Asia, and In my strong opinion Pakistan looks like an easy "conquer' for CHina, because under the guise of "friendship and alliance", China seems to be taking over econmical and important parts of Pakistan as a country. but lets see. Afterall theres no formal military alliance that China is a member of(except SCO?).So talk is really cheap. I feel China is using the developing countries as a way to guarantee growth for Chinese people and businesses in decades to come.

Pakistan - China friendship has always benefited both parties. This is good initiation for people of Pakistan considering PIA. Pakistan should also try get this close with Turkey and form a friendlier relationship with Russia. With Iran wanting to take part in CPEC, things are slowly changing for the better.

There is a right way of reforming PIA and then there is the wrong (corrupt) way ... and we all know which PMLN opted for hence it failed. Selling assets for little (to the ruling elite) is nothing but criminal. Getting rid of the excess baggage (useless staff) is what's required.

Potential of new airlines is a welcome note. Domestic rates need to be lower and can be lower. If one can fly return from London to New York for less than $400 (on airlines like EasyJet etc) then why can't we fly from Islamabad to Karachi return in PKR15,000 or even less.

Maybe the complete collapse of PIA is required in order to rebuild it, if structural reform is not politically possible.

At least our citizens can enjoy a quality world class airline service. It's now up to our airlines to rise to the challenge and shape up. Everything the Chinese do will ultimately provide our citizens with quality that only the developed nations enjoy. If our own companies and entities cannot compete at this level then they deserve to be eradicated. Only the fittest survive.

Problem with Pakistani companies is that they are slow, like to monopolise and love being in a comfort zone. They strive for nothing. That is why I am glad the Chinese are coming in full force to kick these organisations into shape and annihilate those that are not worthy. If we were doing that since 1947 we would have been like South Korea by now.
