CSR Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive, a subsidiary of major Chinese train manufacturer, CSR Corporation Ltd., has sold 21 trains to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, it said Saturday.

The sale marked the company's second order from India. The company exported 15 metro trains to New Delhi in 2010, reported Xinhua.

The locomotive company said the trains would be more energy efficient and thus be an industry model in India which is affected by power shortages.

CSR is China's leading bullet train maker and CSR Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive manufactures European-standard metro trains.

hafiz chines supply this rail

FYI Delhi Metro Coaches r manufactured at Bombardia's Varoda, Gujarat factory n not imported from China.

Besides BEML also manufactures Metro Coaches at Banglore.

Its only the engines which r currently being imported.

Although Bambardier has provided 600+ Coaches for Delhi Metro but i think the Engines r provided by some other company.

N yes they look similar to the engine in the pic above.

Oh no, Chinese don't have high-quality products that Indians are used to such as this:

The word “Bombardier" is clearly seen on the front!?!
The train is driven by Bombardier cars!

Sorry, I m using mobile right now n i didn't magnified it earlier too.

Besides as @gslv M3 said these trains don't need locomotives, so yes these r same Metro Coaches which r mafuctured by Bombardier at Varoda.

Maybe due to high demand they r also importing some trains from China too.

These are not some ordinary engines. They are the work horses of one of the world's largest railway networks comprising 115,000 km carrying 9 billion people a year.

The US has the largest railway network in the world.

Anyway the comparison is not apt. The engines that Chinese company supplied are for a city metro and the photograph is of a regular Indian made train engine.

Yeah, look at low-tech Chinese trains. It's so low-tech that nobody dares to ride it. See the emptiness at the platform.

Whilst with Indian high-tech trains, everybody loves to take a ride in, on and next to it. Safety regulations are amongst the highest in the world with nearly zero accident in the last 60 odd years.

OK, HSR are not made for passengers. Interesting!

Yeah, those poor Chinese have to climb through the window a few weeks a year to get home for Chinese New Year and don't have the freedom to enjoy the daily hanging-out-of-the-train like they do in India. That's a breach of human rights in China.

And look at the condition of the Indian carriages. Simply first class and unrivaled in the world.
