The US still have a high standard of living, leveraging on its military and economic strengths, robbing, stealing and forcing the world to finance its debt using its contol over world financial systems.
Though seeing how the US mishandled the pandemic, it seems this good life may be coming to an end.
I can see some will reconsider their strategy of giving birth in the US.

That's why my children are in Australia.
Life is so much easier in Australia, easier to score distinctions at their Universities against DUMB Australians and get good paying jobs and buy big houses.

Pay is also good in Singapore, but the workload and stress is high compared to Australia.
I guess the Chinese had the same considerations.

Better to be competing with the DUMB AMERICANS and get high paying jobs.

But you don't realize that almost everybody in China can choose to do something crazy like birth tourism but most people don't because they are not stupid. A birth tourist baby is like a sign on your forehead saying "my parents are dumb".

Singapore is not short of jobs.
Happy standard of living depends on the criteria chosen.
I chose to remain in Singapore because it is vibrant, good food, good transportation and convenient and most importantly, having retired, I have no need to earn lots of money anymore.

It can't be easily banned because it is part of the US Constitution. You'd have to go through a long process to change it.

Trump has already put up hurdles for people to jump over to make it not as easy.
