How do chinese even ,distinguish among themselves? Chinese population is so huge and have so much ad mixture.
NE people actually freaks out when asked about about being under communism based CHINA,chinese style communism isn't liked at all by the en masse .Even though I myself prefer Capitalist style Communism .So,NE doesn't actually want to be under china but be an ally .

And NE people( naga,mizo,meitei) are more mongoloid than their far southern counterparts which have strong negrito,Austronesian ad mix which Naga,mizo,meetei have much less of it if any,due their geographical and social segregation from rest of asiatic communities for tens of centuries .

Han Chinese normally can distinguish themselves from other NON Han Chinese. But yes, you're correct, there are other minorities in Chinese too.

Yes, China has many minorities and some of them do look southeast Asians, so individually we can't say for sure cause China is so vast, but if people come in groups, the difference is so clear to see and no one will make mistakes of it.

Most people in that region look nothing like Chinese. Yes , we only need Zangnan back. For other peoples live in that region, let them decide their own fate.

Imo, almost all them can pass as chinese,chinese vary in looks so much .

The people you posted are cute but definitely not a dominant representative community like meetei or naga or mizo. Those are likely more minor community at best.NE have lots of different communities like china.
A dominant community like meetei is actually famous for their nose shape( even known as "roman nose" people among NE communities) and possess more refined facial structure .Meetei have better nose and more structured face than typical east asian too.

They are Indians begging to enter China which we refuse, they would have Chinese ID cards if they are Chinese and coming back to China won't be a problem with Chinese ID cards, if they don't have, they are not, simply as that. They have Indian passports but not Chinese ID cards, so it's very clear that they are Indians begging to come to China.
