That's definitely what I mean when I am talking about a community. A China-centered community; a modern version of tribute system in East Asia.
Tribute system would be a more technical affair, surely, and that would rest on China's military and industrial prowess. I agree that, if China is weak, there could be no peace in East Asia. And China cannot trust anybody near or far to act on historical benevolence or feelings of community.
I remember, even Nihonjin had the conceptualization of a China-centered economic sphere. I do not think of, as well as argue about, a political sphere, but I would still argue that an economic cooperation scheme would be good for China and region.
That's a practical, peaceful way to reduce US influence.
