What's new

China’s largest Muslim ally broke ranks to criticize its repression of the Muslim Uighur minority

So at least Indians can not accuse Pakistan of not saying anything over this issue. China won't tolerate anyone meddling with our domestic issues, big or small.

They did and we are disappointed, we never meddle with their domestic issues.
this is not meddling. Don't fall for Indian BS. We don't want China whom we consider as a brotherly country to face any problem down the road based on our experience. CIA will have a field day exploiting this weakness of China.

To understand China' concerns and mentality one needs to learn some Chinese recent history.
This incident plunged China into a century of national humiliation, religions backed by foreign elements, tens of millions died and China broke into pieces, the wound is still raw and Chinese government and people will never let it happen again.

this is why perhaps to neutralize this issue completely, bring Pakistan or involve us to convince those people to join chinese mainstream peacefully...We being their fellow Muslims would have far more credibility in their eyes instead to Chinese government.

This isnt the era of going hard on people, it backfires these days.

Pakistani state officials and ministers should refrain from commenting publicly on Chinese issues, just as China refrains from commenting on Pakistani issues. Backdoors raise this issue yes, as it effects us as well given the historic links between Uighurs and communities in our north. However there is a time and place for such comments. Foreign policy is not conducted by emotions, but rather thought out policies. China is our only neighbor which we can tangibly classify as a friend. Lets keep it that way shall we.

Dear Pakistani friend: Are you aware that there are 10 million Hui Muslims in China? Both Hui and non-Muslim Chinese citizens are a part of this project to eradicate Wahabbi extremism from the Uighur population.

Nothing wrong with Pakistan's friendly involvement. I am just pointing out that Chinese population is not monolithic either.

China is not discriminating Muslims in anyway. China is trying to deal with a minority of Muslim extremists without letting outside forces exploit it as an opportunity to destabilise Xianjiang.
We have seen the same thing happening in Tibet and while China acted harshly against a few troublemakers China did not oppress Tibetan Buddhists. If anything Buddhism is now doing better in Tibet.
After failure to create unrest in Tibet the same people are trying to create unrest by radicalizing the Uyighurs.

We tried. The Uighurs imported Wahabbism from Saud, killed a hundred civilians and tried to overthrow the government 10 years ago. There are other, non-contentious Muslims communities such has Hui and Kazakh. Uighurs will need to moderate their nationalism and religious fundamentalism in a similar fashion.
Good luck then.

@haidian I created a topic explaining my thoughts on the matter. I will tag you in it.
I understand that you have your concerns, but speaking of tolerance, I believe China does it very well. If there is an ethnic Christian group in Pakistan started a big riot in a major Pakistani city and mass killed hundreds of Pakistani Muslims and after that commited many terrorist attacks in many citie all across Pakistan, including your nation's capital, killing hundreds of innocent Pakistani Muslims, what do you expect Pakistani government and people to do with those trouble makers?

I can only apologize to the Chinese members here. I entirely disagree with the comments made by Minister Qadri. I would suggest the Chinese ask this minister to stick the prescription up his own backside. Pakistan is a country where even international sport avoids because of terrorism. It is country which saw large swathes lost to terroristt control and Pakistan became infamous across the globe for terrorism. Almost every country - friend or foe has travel advisory about visiting Pakistan. We have even ex Prime Minister killed by terrorists and Presidents who came under sustained attack in the capital city. We even saw Lal Masjid in heart of Islamabad turn into a warzone.

On the other hand China is and remains one of the safest, secure countries on earth. When a Pakistan goes to China he does not need PLA infantry to guard him unlike Pakistan where a entire division has been raised to keep Chinese safe in Pakistan.

Pakistan needs to take lessons from China on peace, security and safety. Not the other way around.

Is this not amazing? It's like imagine every room in my house has burnt down. I have lost family members. All because of my lack of fire safety and craziness. Entire house is gutted. And then I go with a straight face, knock on neighbours door and start preaching him about virtues of fire safety.

He would have every reason to say "shut it" and punch me in the face !

Do not take it as criticism but a valuable suggestion from a brother who keeps China's best interest at heart. Repression will only fuel extremism and terrorism. Instead China can take Pakistan's help in this regard to bring Uighur into the main stream. Sending them to detention centers no matter how good the intentions are, will never settle in well.

Yeah, Pakistan’s is such a model in managing its internal terrorism. LOL
