I agreee that south India might not affected by monsoon, how about your territory at the vincinity of Tibet, without rain from the monsoon, you will get the desert land, if you're happy with that, it will certainly make our day too :azn:. As for the rest we dont care, as long as we can get the monsoon into Tibet plateau and eventually to rain into Takalama desert than we're happy, we chinese will leave you what your dream to move the indo-Australian tectonic plate :lol:, just make sure that India is not end up like Japan to sit on the ring of fire which about to ne extinct in 100 years according to Japanese scientist prediction:rofl:

downward movement of Indo-Australian plate will just accelerate it towards the Eurasian plate which means it will be on the shores of China most economic region.:bunny:. The ring of fire plate which will be already made unstable will be catastrophic for china as volcanic eruptions and earthquakes coupled with Tsunamis will make it uninhabitable. :smitten:

I guess entire chinese population will have to migrate to your newly created tibet valley whicih will receive no rainfall as the himalayas whose height was doubled will not allow winds to pass through.

a)South India will not be affected because Himalayas play very less to none role in monsoon in South India . The ITCZ will shift irrespective of tibetian plateau. and the role of orographic barrier is done by western Ghats.
same is the reaction .They are caused by SW monsoon winds.Western India is also poured upon by the SW monsoon winds.
b)only northern India and that too above the tropic of cancer will be affected which includes parts of Bihar and Up and to some extent west Bengal.(Most of the rains in orrisa and bengal is coastal phenomenon) and if you are thinking that you can stop rains altogether the sadly you are extremely mistaken rather this will decrease the rains by around 50% in some parts of northern plains.
and it's fairly easy to counter your plan
Step 1: India will move Indo-Australian tectonic plate to a bit downwards so that a new landmass is formed by this process and then fill over this landmass so that a new plateau is created:victory: and then we'll double the size of himalayas to an average of 10000 mts .:yahoo:

Ladakh - which itself is a plains at very high altitude, here neither can you lower any mountains / platau no effect

HImachal / Uttarakhand - this itself is an mountain zone even the mountains on our side act as channeling factor so you can only lower the mountains on your side not on indian side

then comes nepal - you can lower mountains beyond nepal on your side and it will affect more of nepal not india - if you try to do it in nepal - not possible
so this covers UP + Bihar

then we have sikkim + bhutan as buffer

then we have northeast - not much you can do here too

so you may end up harming

actually it was just a bit of trolling from my side :P you know two can play this game
on a serious note as far as digging up of Tibetan plateau is concerned ; it's not possible period. Let alone china but even if the whole of humanity joins in this operation , they will end up exhausting all of their resources before the operation is completed.

As far as role of tibetian plateau is concerned ; the Indian monsoons really are affected by the the plateau but not in the way Dragon is speaking and certainly not to the extent of rendering the northern India a desert. you see what exactly happens is that the plateau just accelerates the monsoon due to low pressure created by the heating of tibet and when winds move they are not able to go past the himalayas and drop the rain on the foothills of himalayas . Bihar , Up and bengal are not on the foothill of mountains rather they get rained upon by the winds passing over it. If tibetian plateau was not present , it would have rained nonetheless but during the autumn season i.e. around Oct-Dec due to passive El-Nino Retraction factor and with a bit less frequency. most of the himalayas also lie inside India which cannot be changed by China . Without himalayas only, the rain will move to china ,not without some plateau anybody who says otherwise is either ignorant or a troller.

I have never say to flattened the whole Tibetan plateau, we just need to remove some section of the mountain that's good enought to clear the passage for the monsoon cloud into our side in the region that we most benefit to us. As for Ring of fire, yes tell those nations that touching the red line as shown on your picture to make some preparation for the doom's day, we're far from it.:lol:

see close to this end, when the cloud cross the mountain, that's what we will expect from India side.;)


And we're certainly capable to undertake such large scale project, when that moment come, you Indian just need to make some adjustment and enjoy more sun shine than monsoon.:D

No quite sure of that, but we have witness the snow in Taklamakan desert, it seemed to be from Ladakh side which gave us a great hope, when ever we find out if the correlation between Ladakh and snow on our desert is truth than you bet will not just sit idlely...as for Nepal, Bangladesh and Pakistan, they're our friends,we will certainly not do anything to harm them.

Even the HK international airport in my city was built on an artificial island, made out of reclaimed land, back in the 1990's.

That's why I always thought the phrase "mountains don't move" is a joke, in China mountains are always moving, we level mountains at a fantastic rate.

Hypothetically speaking, if the Tibetan plateau were to be reduced dramatically, compressed air pressure that causes relative humidity to drop and creates hot/dry weather that drench the mountains and parts of the plateau dry will spill into the inner part of China. This may cause much of China to become like Taklamakan and Gobi desert.

As for Asia subcontinent, with the vast mountainous range of the Himalaya barricading the cold/dry air from the northern latitude from entering while trapping the moisture-laden, warm winds coming from the oceans will continue to drive the Indian monsoon. Therefore, even if the Tibetan plateau did not exist, it will not hurt India at all. However, China's weather pattern will change without it.

see the if you look ar the taklakaman desert and the snow there then you have to agree that the snow and the cold atmosphere there is due to 2 things

1. Height / Altitutde
2. Cold winds sweeping in from the north

if you lower the height by digging up the the whole desert / palins / mountains and lowering the altitutde you will not only loose the snow/coldness but also irrevocable change the natrual course of the rivers flowing out from it and into various parts of china due to topography and gravity flow

no matter what you do in your territory , it will not bring the monsoon from Indian side to tibet. I do feel that India has been the most blessed landmass with fertile planes and Himalayas protecting us from cursed frigid winds from the other side which are as cold as some people's heart out there:angel:.

and yes there is difference between 70m fattening of some hills and complete flattening of plateau of 4500m. Tell me even a single time where anybody let alone chinese completely wiped a mountain of 5000 m.

This is the news I was looking for. Desalinating plants will turn our ocean water into usuable water. And this will transform terra on a massive scale! I wonder how much the price will drop.

Allow me to speculate about this....Let's say it is possible to blow up the Himalayas. Now, without it, Northeast wind would most likely spiral counterclockwise towards the East direction while the warm Southwest wind would continue its path, without a barrier, Northeast towards China. Areas such as Golmud and Xining, And perhaps Chengdu will have severe changes to there weather patterns. With the collision of Monsoon warm Southwest winds mixed with dry/cold spiraling Northeast winds, the likelihood of extreme weather events such as severe thunderstorm and tornado formation in the area aforementioned would be seemingly probable. Turning those areas into summer tornado hot spots from June to Septemper.
Which ever way you look at this scenario, heaven is just not on your side. It is better to leave nature alone and allow her to balance herself.
