This display of concern looks more like a display of insecurity.

Not insecurity, but curiosity.
I know China has bigger fish to fish to fry. Its none of Indias business.
India can learn from China's experience in this project, as it has been doing in many other things. No harm in looking upto to China if it benefits us.

I am not sure why everyone is so gung-ho about a Nuke carrier. Something like that won't be really useful for China until probably 5-7 years down the line. China's regional concerns still trumps any immediate need for power projection.

Yep that money could be better spent on 1000s of ASBMs and ASCMs instead.

ASBM is only for defensive purpose, but you do need some supercarrier with unlimited range to protect your oil supply from the sea route.

Russia gives up the AC because of lack of funds, but it doesn't mean it is useless.

Actually it was Ukraine who couldn't afford it. I expected better research from you Gubbi.

The Varyag never had engines, radar, fire control, defense systems, or planes. We have to basically supply everything besides the hull which was a cool 30 million.
