Why will China name an aircraft carrier after an US ex-president?
What kind of propulsion will this super-carrier have? nuclear or gas-turbine?
What kind of aircraft's will it carry? What is the tonnage?

Nuclear for sure.
J 15 or new stealth fighter. at least 100,000 tons.
Its China's equivalent.. Also this is just for fun.
US has over 80yrs of experience of building and operating aircraft carriers. Ford class supercarrier is a culmination of that experience.
Whereas China has zero experience with aircraft carriers. 0 to 100,000T is a mighty leap.

I don't think China will build a carrier the size of Gerald Ford class anything soon. The Varyag will likely enter service later this year or early next year, and the refit process has been painfully slow. The next step after Varyag would be an indigenious carrier of equivilent size prior to moving into supercarriers.
There is still the matter of crappy state of Chinese nuclear propulsion.....
Building a 40,000 tons second hand carrier is virtually useless for us.
We do need those 100,000 tons babies. That's why the 68,000 tons Varyag only serves as a training ship.
