lol how the hell did we manage to build a nuclear sub back then, it was the 80s and people still had trouble making a lamp.

My dad got a flash light in the 70s as a gift and the bulb sucked, broke after 2 days, except they didn't make just bulbs, so that was a useless crap.

I remember, back in the 90s people were paying mad cash for just the right to buy a Japanese made TV.

Nope, most of our modern experts were still mostly graduated from the Qinghua University in Beijing or the Jiaotong University in Shanghai.

Wuhan is the research hub of nuclear subs so naturally this demand pulls up the supply/contribution of universities/institutes in the area.
