Pls note that the Kunming-Lijiang section is already operational, with a northwestward extension to Shangrila at the TAR border planned for opening in 2014.

There's another Tibet railway project, SiChuan-to-Tibet line. But it delay coz high building cost in mountains.

不过进藏五大铁路中（青藏，甘藏，川藏，滇藏，新藏）必修且应该及早上马动工的线路应该是青藏与滇藏两线路，争取2011年开工建设，2015年建成。
川藏铁路将于2014年开工，预计工期8年，建成后成都至拉萨只需8小时。作为未来进藏首选线路，该项目曾因难度大、花费高被搁置。
