1. A missile with 15~20m CEP is good as bunker buster.
2. Is there a reporting error 20K ton nuke or 2 K ton TNT?
3. How a missile could penetrate a bunker designed to withstand nuclear blast?
4. What is the penetration depth and how much & type of explosives it can carry?

Answer is very simple. It is chinese claim.

It seems more intended towards the small neighbors like Taiwan to frighten them.

Yes, India knows the Chinese quality so well that it begged France to send them 126 fighters and ended up being sidelined even after having extra funds extorted out of its bank.

And Chinese quality of defense stuf is so worse that none other than its own scientist criticized there plane saying that it will if a nightmare if pitted against a small country like Vietnam.

The information is from an unnamed staff reporter of Want Chine Times, a Tawainese neswpaper wellknown for its unreliable reporting and anti-China stance. You will never get any true data on this missile other than wild speculations from the like of Want China Time. China will never disclose any information.

China unveils Ballistic Bunker Buster

CHINA has released the first photos of its DF-15C “bunker buster” — a hi-tech ballistic missile designed to obliterate underground command centres.

The pictures of the a short-range missile, equipped with a powerful deep-penetration warhead, were published inOrdnance Knowledge, which is controlled by the People’s Liberation Army.

According Taiwan’sWant China Times, citing a report in the China’sGlobal Times, the missile can be directed using a terminal radar guidance system or infra-red imaging guidance system. It has a range of 700 kilometres — covering any point between Kyushu in Japan and the Indian capital of New Delhi — and a circular error probability of between 15-20 metres.

The report notes that the weapon, unveiled in 2007, was designed in response to Taiwan’s asymmetric warfare tactics.Key targets are said to include the Heng Shan Military Command Center in Taipei — a wartime nerve centre designed to withstanding a 20 kiloton nuclear blast, a 2 kiloton conventional bomb blast or an electromagnetic pulse — and the Chiashan Air Force Base, located in the east coastal city of Hualien.

The aim of any such strike would be to disable the enemy’s command capabilities, eliminating its ability to coordinate an effective resistance.
