if war doesn't break out, it won't be due to the nuclear assets on both sides because it is far more economical for china to intercept the limited number of warheads from india than for india to intercept chinese missiles. but war won't break out because it is too hard and uneconomic to fight a conventional war, and when china wins, it becomes actually more uneconomic for china to support the billions of wretched, destitutely poor and famished indians.

a limited conventional war that decapitates india at the chicken neck is an ideal solution and would leave india still as the biggest subcontinental power but too humiliated and weakened to threaten even BD.

The Chinese missiles are in the inaccuracy range 600 metres while Indian missiles have an inaccuracy of 20 metres. This means Indian missiles have a higher probability of hitting the target right.

Chinese military has not had any military combat experience for several decades. Military training does help to prepare a soldier for war, but there is no substitute for actual combat and war. China should at least engage in a limited war in the coming years to test it's new military power and capabilities. A limited war will also help China to diagnose any weaknesses in it's defense both local and regional.

Soldiers can do everything textbook in controlled training simulations and exercises, in combat they can become lax, so actual military combat experience helps to transform the soldier to a battle harden soldier. A 'battle harden soldier' is different from a 'trained soldier'.

We saw the Russian military engage in a limited war exercise with Georgia in 2008.
