China wants military base in Pakistan

A much better response was expected from a person of your caliber.

Sorry, qsaark. I'll try to better next time. I think that a Chinese military base in Pakistan would promote the stability of Pakistan. However, I think it is sad that such a foreign presence might be needed.

.
China should have a base in Pakistan,Why not? Blackwater has a base in Pakistan. Al Queda has bases in Pakistan, Taliban has bases in Pakistan. Organised criminals like Dawood has established a base in Karachi, so why not China? That will bring more money to Pakistan.

:rofl::rofl:

good one.

i think the indian reaction is revealing - all of a sudden they are concerned about pakistani sovereignty? = LOL

its a good move for this to happen if it means gwadar can go into fruition - infact it would be a great move benefiting all if it helps gwadar happen.

pakistani's can feel relatively safe about having a base with china because

1 - the USA basically use and abuse, pakistan has a far more meaningful relationship with china
2. this could bring increased co-operation and economic prosperity to both nations
3.other nations like india will have more to worry about.
4. pakistan will have china acting as a type of guarantor of sorts against other nations - roughly speaking.
5. china has decent relationships with the muslim world and is more respectful of muslim sovereign interests (their own domestic issues do not count), whilst the US want to make other nations into client states of their own mould.
6. the us occupying force in afghanistan/pakistan may become more respectful and cautious of pakistan if they see a chinese presence in pakistan
7. china may be able to positvely help pakistans internal situation

however on the negative this would force the US and probably russia firmly into india's court, pakistan may also become an open enemy in the west.

therefore india may get even sweeter deals from the us to keep the balance between pakistan/china and india to their satidfaction.

so i am in favor of this as long as its not an airbase for the sake of an airbase, but something more meaningful

Actually you are very wrong. While the average Pakistani is happy with the support China has offered there is no way he is going to be happy if a division of 20000 Chinese move en masse to say Gwader.

You know what that means for the local culture ?

Today even US is feeling the heat in Japan ?

How will the local Islamic people feel when Chinese beauty parlours open up there ( remember Lal Masjid episode), what about when pork meat and all the exotic Chinese food makes their way there ?

The best way to give BLA a much needed recruitment drive is to hand over Gwader to China.

Nice to see that Indians glorify the apartheid.

Please explain how anything I said glorifies the apartheid. Or how does India or Indians do so? By being one of the first if not the first country to impose sanctions on South Africa? Or giving up our only genuine chance to win the Davis Cup in 1974? Or fighting against apartheid since 1893 through a rather well known lawyer. You might have heard of him - MK Gandhi.

China + Pakistan is the only way forward, as USA is agressively trying to attack Pakistan , we need to partner with China ...a peaceful nation who can oversea iran/pakistan/afghanistan - better then USA

I don't know what independence you are saying but US is openly bombing our cities with drone attacks and discriminating against our civilians at airports or hiring local malitia to do covert operations ..etc ...

China and Pakistan is the future ... realy China Pakistan iran russia and rest of asia great alliance -

One thing Chinese do is they understand culture, and they respect ppl's values and very humble ppl who understand friendship and honor , most of the other "freedom fetish soliders" just drop bombs on you and then give you a snack pack and smile enjoy your freedom ...

I think China + Pakistan is a better choice fro Pakistan and Iran and Srilanka and bangladesh and russia

yes if china takes over pakistan allama iqbals dream of our borders extending to kashghar will come true and chinas muslim population will increase manifold along with its influence on china,s foreign policy and 'Jummu and kashmir will handed over on a platter (quote by farookh Abdullah of Kashmir).

However back to reality. yes china can have a base or bases. I suggest Gwader for its navy and a site near or in the rann of kutch near indian border and an air base in Gilgit Balitstan. In return we would demand weapons, aid and cash and TOT. A good start would be about 20 billion dollers say over 5 years as economic and military aid or we can stay quiet and offer it free. The chinese will follow the example of the late ruler of Dubai who was granted free land near Rahim Yar Khan but later developed the airport and other infrastructure projects in the district for the locals which far outweighed the free grant of land to him. Even after his death the family of the late ruler has fell in love with the people of Rahim Yar Khan and is still involved in investing in projects for the people the latest one of many is the new medical college in the city. But with China it would be proper have a treaty where they respect out culture, our laws, and the locals and pay us for the bases and services we provide for them.

Just 3 Questions Mr. Dreamer,

1. Have you asked Balochies ?

2. Why should Chinese pay you 20 Billion when they refused you guys 500 million to bail out your economy?

3. Can they have pork, beauty parlours, wine in your cities openly ?

Regards

Look who is at it again, Mr. know-it-all. Instead of burning out of rage and jealousy just accept that China Pak relations are only going to solidify in the coming years and decades. That also includes access to military bases in Pakistan for China!

Don't act like Balochi's are aliens from another planet. They're Pakistanis. By allowing China access to military bases it will strengthen the cause of Pakistan and thus the Balochi's. Indeed, injustice has been inflicted by previous leadership on the Balochi people, but so have other Pakistanis suffered a great deal. So, let's not make an exception out of Baluchistan. Also, don't exploit it as a pretext to vent rage and hatred against all Pakistanis.

The Chinese had their reasons for not providing direct loan because of the corrupt regime in Pakistan. You'll be surprised to find out that most Pakistanis actually endorsed Chinese move.

Openly? What kind of stupidity is that? Ever thought that Muslim women are being banned from wearing veils in the open in so-called civilized and democratic West? How about denying the Holocaust? Don't judge others because you're not perfect. Your freedoms are limited to your hypocritical interests.

PS. You're an Indian in disguise. It's so obvious. I'm onto you. Don't be a coward and deny it. Just admit it.

Mr. Sherlock Holmes I am impressed !

Now lets strip the bone of the meat and see what we are discussing ?

Once again i have the agony of illuminating you with the danger of AM happily sending me on Annual leave. The PA gives 60 days but AM will probably give me 360 days. Ok back to the topic and some genuine reasons

FIRSTLY WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT ACCESS TO PA/PN/PAF BASES !

WE ARE TALKING ABOUT a colony which comes totally under Chinese rule and control.

Simple example if a Chinese tears a quran in anger will you try him under Pak law or Chinese law ?

If a Chinese Major by mistake runs over a local will the Chinese be allowed to handle it or will they hand him over to local authorities ?

Have you ever seen an overseas base and before U ask me I spent 3 months in Ramstein.

:mps:

Thats the beer fest in munich.

^^ LOL Good to see that I again hit a nerve somewhere. Keep on believing in your one-sided conspiracy theories Indian in disguise. Adios!

OLD SAYING YOUNG MAN

Don't stand near the fire if you can't stand the heat. One liners never win the debate.

Ps : Whats the preferred container size in Gwadar ? ( trick question )

no "colony", at best a navel refuel, rearm base with at most a couple hundred persons on base this will make sure the base(port) is open even if some nations want to blockage pakistan, as for other internal(external?) problems they will have to be solved by the pakistani government, non-intervention is the chinese policy thus china can only help so much, the pakistanis must be the ones to takes back their nation

SO YOU AGREE with me I see.

I have already said that the Sino Pak relationship is sound enough for that.

The article states having a base.

What rules does such base follow ? I am a military professional and I understand how hard these things are to implement.

The days of having a base any country are gone unless u are talking about Haiti.

Ps : My comments are not aimed at China but that young Kid called IL in a nice way as settling in an alien land is akin to our experience in N. Ireland

As an Indian, I wish India will never come to a situation when the presence of one country (on its soil) would be needed to safe guard its interests. I never want to see that situation..ever.

On the other hand it may work well for India. For one, China is considered much more responsible, secondly it would greatly influence Pakistan or the rest of the world on "freedom fighters" that get support in Pakistan. The world may also see this alliance in a whole different light, I say good move in more than one way!
