China vows to build powerful army

China has territorial disputes with many of the countries around it, and has used its military to 'enhance' its claims on those territories, or expressed the willingness to do so.

The US has no territorial disputes.

China has settled nearly all of its continental border disputes with the exception of India, who does not want a peaceful resolution because they are anxious to spoil China's rise.

As for rescuing a peaceful Chinese fisherman who was captured and jailed by the Japanese is a good example of the use of diplomacy, rather than the use of crippling sanctions or military invasions, as the US has applied to countries like Iran and Iraq with which it has disagreements with. Again, China's policy is peaceful development.

It is the United States which is butting into the China's coastal territories, running propaganda using its Voice of America, and inflaming territorial conflict instead of helping to resolve them. China has offered to put off the territorial disputes and jointly explore the use of resources. Instead, the US is using the disputes as diplomatic leverage to thwart China's rise. The US should stop clinging to its East Asian empire and gracefully accommodate the rise of other countries. American cannot forever be the policeman of the world, nor should it be, considering the mess it has left in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The US has no territorial disputes.

Yet the USA has invaded two countries (Iraq and Afghanistan), in the past ten years alone.

And threatened war against two more (Iran and North Korea).

How many countries has China invaded in the past ten years?

just humoring

Wen said China also would continue strengthening the People's Armed Police, a paramilitary force tasked with suppressing domestic unrest.

When American police do the same (which they do all the time), it is simply labeled as "bringing to justice those responsible for property damage and public disturbance".

The media bias is disgusting and naive.

The US has no territorial disputes.

Japan, one of the closest ally of the US, has territorial disputes with all neighboring countries (Russia/China/South Korea/Taiwan). If you look, it is just amazing that Japanese are running such disputes with Russia and China at the same time.

Yet, such kind of stupidity is not a problem, because it is an ally of the USA, I mean the greatest nation on earth the USA.

Oh, let's have a look at the USA - defense budget is about 600-700 billion USD per year, higher than the other top9 countries combined. Yet the regime is owing the rest of the world (including its own people) $14.19 trillion as of Feb. 2011. Guess what? The regime illegally started the war in Iraq, killed half million civilians there under the name of searching for WMD. Where is the Iraqi's WMD? how about just officially apologize to all those killed civilians in Iraq?

Now how about just pack up your wonderful feeling on your fancy USA and start worrying your own problem at home -- your $14.19 trillion public debt?

One wonders about the motivation for such an aggressive policy. The question is....why?

Because the US has carriers within 500 km Beijing? Because US military commanders has made open threats of conflict towards China? Because for the past 200 years China has been the militarily weakest country in world? Because China and the Chinese people has been abused, slaughtered, forgotten, and tortured repeatedly by foreign powers because of the previous fact?

Hopefully people will start studying world history someday.

Exactly what China should do. China must strive to become the #1.

A logical view considering US keeps moving its troops into Asian Chinese waters for Provocation
