China urges Pakistan to take 'effective measures' to protect Chinese citizens

The Chinese Foreign Ministry confirmed here on Wednesday that one Chinese woman was shot dead in Pakistan's northwest city of Peshawar on Tuesday.

Ministry spokesman Hong Lei told a regular press conference, "The Foreign Ministry pays great attention to the incident, and the Chinese embassy in Pakistan has launched emergency procedures to handle the case.

"The Chinese side has also urged Pakistan to seize and punish the gunmen and take effective measures to strengthen protection of Chinese organizations and citizens there."

On Tuesday, at about 5 p.m. local time, two unknown gunmen approached on a motorbike and opened fire at two people sitting in a car at a marketplace in the downtown area of Peshawar. The gunmen fled the scene after the shooting. Both victims were shot in the head and died on the way to hospital.

A passport found in the pocket of the dead woman showed she was a Chinese national. The other man killed was a local resident.

These Pakistani politicians don't give a damn about Pakistani citizens dying. Hopefully China can give them a kick in the as$ to improve law and order.

I think China should send some military inside pakistan (apart from gilgit and baltistan), in other cities like peshawar and lahore to protect chinese citizens. That way they can protect chinese citizens from terrorist attacks.
Yes actually, china is doing same in mekong river, where it send its army/police whatever to other downstream countries in thailand, loas and myanmar.

OR ISI premier pakistani intelligence organization has to put protecting chinese citizens on priority ahead of pakistani citizens.

Interesting choice of words. If the Delhi police provides extra security to visiting athletes in the CWG, is India "bending over backwards to please" foreigners? If a municipality provides special police force to a visiting trade delegation, are they "bending over backwards to please" these people?

Guests always get special treatment and, if it helps the locals along the way, so much the better.

They are similar in that they apply to high profile visitors which force the authorities to lift their game.

How can you compare the two cases. The girl's case is pure an internal police matter.

Mekong River is an international water way and China is a member of that group that responsible for its securities. When her merchant ships faced with atrocities, she has the responsibilities to help the investigations and the duties to monitor future safeties of the route.

I don't think we would be laughing if Chinese or Pakistanis made fun of Indian citizens killed in Mumbai attacks. I request you to be sensitive when there is death and terrorism involved.

Yesterday when I have posted this news every pakistani member was saying that I have gone down to the level of posting a news about the death of a chinese through terrorists in pakistan.

Just see how china is reacting to the news of a death of a single chinese but even after 26/11 or regular terrorist attacks by LeT India says something pakistani act weird and pose as offended.
